I wanted something enjoyable to do instead of doom scrolling while having my morning tea or coffee. Since I am currently studying for the JLPT N3, I thought Fun Kanji Word Search Puzzles for Japanese Learners would be a great way to improve my kanji recognition, and it absolutely is. This book includes an impressive 277 word search puzzles. What I really appreciate is that it goes beyond simple kanji practice and also reinforces grammar and vocabulary. Furigana is included above the kanji, which makes it accessible and stress free while still being educational. I have already picked up several new vocabulary words just from working through the puzzles. I keep this book on my dining table and complete a small spread of about four word searches each day. It has become a relaxing and productive part of my routine. I highly recommend this for Japanese learners at any level, or for anyone like me who wants to spend less time staring at a phone screen and more time learning something meaningful.

First off, this book is BIG! As you can see compared to my hand. Not a bad things at all, I really appreciate the size as it's sometimes difficult to read small furigana. I am an upper intermediate learner who has taken a long break from studying Japanese and this is the fun activity I needed to get me back into my studies. The way this workbook uses Japanese words and concepts of grammar in context is very helpful, especially for beginning learners who have a hard time grasping how Japanese words are used. I can tell that time and effort was put into this workbook to help the learner grow their skills in quickly identifying kanji. Not only the kanji by itself, but also with other kanji/kana to create complete words and sentences. This is very valuable for the learner as it teaches them how to recognize and use these kanji accurately. Overall, I highly recommend this book for Japanese language learners of all levels. It is a great study tool at an even greater price!

A way to maybe a way to improve recognition of Japanese writing.

The puzzles are fun and provide class I, II, III verb usage tips and particle placement structure on a variety of subjects, thus helping to build and retain memory of highly used kanji. Furigana is printed above the kanji in the legend so to help with pronunciation. The word search also helps build hiragana and katakana reading skills without the use of any romaji. I enjoy this feature because romaji can alter pronunciation and should be avoided when advancing in Japanese language learning. This word search is a perfect addition to any study guide library for Japanese language. I highly recommend this word search to anyone studying Kanji!

This is better than expected. I can tell the creators put A LOT of time into this project and I appreciate that! It has so many everyday phrases & grammar points used going by themes that you will learn so much after it's completed. obviously using puzzles to learn it makes it fun which stimulates your mind in a whole different way. it's good to go back to previous puzzles to see if you recall phrases and/or kanji. I also like that it's not holding back by going by only very easy or jlpt only kanjis. it's showing everything we can see or use everyday & slowly getting harder & it tells you which puzzles are beginner, intermediate or advanced.

Learning any second language is repetitive and time consuming and it is hard sometimes to make language learning fun. So when I find a creative way to help with that problem, I usually jump on it! This book looked fun and contained enough word searches to last almost an entire year. Once I received the book, I was not disappointed. The book is larger and thicker than I expected and has easily readable print like the story book from Japanese Language Park I bought several months ago. This is not a cheap puzzle book you find at the gas station. The puzzle titles and words are translated to English, and the grammar puzzles even come with sentence structure tips. I thought this was clever and it adds a little learning bonus to each day that I do a puzzle. Having bought books from this author before, I expected them to be high quality. Again, I was not disappointed! And I actually bought 2 thinking once the first book was completed, I would want to start all over again. By only doing 1 a day for the next year, I doubt I will remember where I found the words once I restart the book. I could erase the puzzles if I used a pencil, but figured that would be too time consuming. So far I found the puzzles to be challenging and engaging.

In each word search puzzle the kanji are presented in groups that let you naturally build your understanding of how characters combine logically to form new words and sentences. Seeing the kanji used in various ways in each section helps cement your understanding by both providing repetition and various context to remember each kanji in. The book is larger than I anticipated, it is good quality. The print is easy to read, letting you see the detail of the characters clearly as well as keeping the furigana legible. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to practice kanji and increase their vocabulary in a relaxed and entertaining way.

I would highly recommend this book. The puzzles are great and there's English Meanings of the words to consolidate learning.
