Toothbrushes seem like a good case study for sustainability. We should all be using them, but they are fundamentally disposable items and can get rather expensive. I like the idea of something affordable that will biodegrade after throwing it away (but not sooner). But my immediate concern is whether such a thing will function well as a toothbrush. So far I think these are pretty good. I used one and all of the bristles stayed in. It lasted a few months. Eventually the bristles got worn in and bent, like any other toothbrush, and I moved onto the next one. The handles are mostly made of cornstarch apparently; they have a nice matte texture to them and I have not noticed any residue or tackiness. I also appreciate that they made the box recyclable.

Yay! A cruelty-free, plastic-free toothbrush I can sink my teeth into! Bristles stand up but soft. No yucky chemical smell or taste. Very reasonably priced, as five or so come in a pack. Most importantly, vegan.
