Lovely pot—but beware the porridge eruption!
This is a well-made, attractive microwaveable pot with a handy vented lid. It feels sturdy, cleans up well, and I imagine it will be perfect for soups, stews, and reheating leftovers. However, I must issue a warning to fellow porridge enthusiasts: this pot and porridge do not get along. I used it to make my usual morning oats, and after a couple of minutes in the microwave, there was what can only be described as a porridge explosion. The vent became a launchpad, ejecting a blob of scalding porridge just as I opened the door—straight onto my hand. The microwave interior looked like a dalmatian in oat-based camouflage. It took two bowls of soapy water and four microfibre cloths to restore order. To be clear: this isn’t a fault with the pot itself, but porridge is a volatile beast in the microwave, and this design doesn’t seem to tame it. I’ll continue using the pot for other things, but porridge will now be confined to hob-only rituals. Hope this helps someone avoid a breakfast ambush!

Very useful
Nice little device which works very well. The lid closes very easily and tightly. Very strong, dishwashes well.

Brilliant Design, Perfect Results – Sistema Really Delivers!
While visiting family in New Zealand, I noticed one of them using a Sistema microwave container, and I was instantly impressed by how simple yet clever the design was. When I got back to the UK, I discovered that Sistema products are available on Amazon, so I decided to try one for myself. I ordered the Sistema Microwave Round Bowl (915 ml) with Steam Release Vent — priced around £5, which I thought was excellent value for something so practical. As usual, it arrived the next day with Prime, and that’s always a big plus in my book. Straight out of the box, the quality stood out. The plastic feels thick, durable, and well-made, and the signature Sistema locking clips on the lid are solid — not flimsy like many cheaper alternatives. They click firmly into place and give real confidence that the lid won’t come loose while heating. Before using it, I gave it a quick wash, then tested it with some pre-cooked basmati rice. I added a splash of water, opened the steam vent, and microwaved it for just two minutes. The result? Perfectly heated rice, light and fluffy — and not a single bit of mess inside the microwave. I also really appreciate that Sistema uses BPA-free plastic, which is important to me, especially as someone who’s become more health-conscious since being in remission from cancer. It’s reassuring to know the materials are safe as well as durable. The rounded interior makes food easy to scoop out, and the bright colour means it’s easy to spot in the cupboard. It’s a small thing, but it adds to the overall sense of good design and attention to detail. This is one of those products that simply works — no fuss, no gimmicks, just smart design and reliable performance. I’ve already got my eye on a few other Sistema containers to add to the collection! Verdict: Excellent quality, heats food perfectly, and built to last. Highly recommended — Sistema really has mastered the art of microwave cookware.

Practical, But Not Perfect
I bought three of these containers (915ml round) and use them a lot. They're practical, though far from perfect. ADVANTAGES: * Convenient size. One bowl equals one meal, for example, a vegetable stew. * Adapts to all temperatures, which gives it enormous flexibility. * Freezer and microwave safe. This is related to the previous point and makes these containers so useful. For example, after cooking a sheet pan vegetable meal in the oven, I eat one portion and have two portions left over. I fill those into these containers and let them cool. Then I put the lids on, and place the containers in the freezer. When I want a meal without cooking, I take one of those containers out of the freezer, put it in the microwave for defrosting with the vent flipped open, and half an hour or so later, I have a nice hot meal. * Attractive looks. Unless I have guests, I eat directly from these bowls, which saves additional washing up. * The label peels off smoothly. Unlike with some other containers, I wasn't left with sticky remnants of the label on the bowl. * Tight fitting lid. Liquids don't spill. (At least, they haven't spilled for me - I see that other reviewers report a problem.) * The clear lid allows to see what's inside, so I know what to take out of the freezer. * Easy to clean. No awkward bits difficult to get at. DISADVANTAGES: * The plastic 'corrodes' from the inside. After a few months use, the inner surface feels 'scratched' and 'gnawed' when I run my finger around it. I believe it's the acid in tomatoes that causes this. Since I cook a lot with tomatoes (soups, stews, curries etc) that's a problem. * The lid stains a bit. I think it's the tomatoes again - they leave yellowish stains on the lid. The same happens when cooking with curry sauce or tumeric. The staining isn't as bad as with other plastic containers I've used, and since it's only the lid which doesn't normally come in touch with the food, this isn't a big problem. But still. * The round shape isn't ideal. Compared with square or rectangular containers, the round containers take up a lot of space in the freezer or the cupboard. Given the choice, I would opt for square ones next time. * The bowls don't stack up. With or without lids, they aren't designed to fit one into the other or one on top of the other. Stackability would be a major advantage for this type of product, and unfortunately this design fails.

Good quality product
This is exactly what you expect with a Sistema product. Good quality, and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Don't buy any other product. The little extra you pay is worth it

Great
My second purchase of these as they are so handy. The snap on lid means it doesn't leat, it has an open and close vent on the lid for microwave heating. It can also go in the freezer -as it's plastic and can become hard/brittle, it's recommended to let it stand for a few minutes to allow the plastic to unfreeze a bit before you put it in the microwave. It does get hot to touch as you'd expect (there are versions with handles if you're a wimp). Very easy to wash. I take them to work and also use for batch cooking (that makes me sound like Nigella) and storing prepared fruit etc. The one small down side is that they don't stack, either with or without the lids so do take up more space. I'd buy more if I had room.
