Chimney Sheep 6 x 16 Inch Wool Chimney Draught Excluder & Blocker

Fantastic!! I had a plastic balloon type chimney blocker that just failed over time. The draught coming down the unused chimney made the room cold especially on the floor. My chimney opening I think is not a standard size. 12”x2” the website said this wouldn’t fit but I took a punt on it anyway and managed to push it through the opening then pull it back to ‘seal’. Worked great. Absolutely no draught but still breathable. Would give six stars if I could. A bit pricey but worth it.

Sturdy and works well, noticeable difference in the temperature of the room once in use (not when the fire was on of course!!). Has a handy tag to clip to the handle as a visual aid to remind you to remove it before lighting a fire, which you need more than you realise.

It was a bit of a shame that there weren’t more side options as my chimney opening is very slim but I purchased based on the size guide and it does the job.Because it’s a bit big, you can see it when looking at the fireplace but I don’t mind that really because it’s fairly inconspicuous and better than the towel we bunged up there before.Tried to check if it would fit in the plastic which was kind of impossible, but out of the plastic it was more mailable and was able to squeeze it up there. It’s doing a fabulous job of keeping the draught at bay!

Easy to insert in chimney and instantly stopped draught. Plastic handle is robust and the tag, warning about not lighting a fire while chimney sheep is in place, is really obvious.

Got the Chimney Sheep for the cold draughts which come down the chimney when the winds are high, it can take the temperature of the room down to an uncomfortable level. The Chimney Sheep blocks the draughts and reduces the noise too. I was a little worried because the chimney is quite awkward to measure, but the size was a perfect fit & when it is pushed in place fits snugly; The handle which is still visible ensures that the fire is not lit before the Chimney Sheep is removed.All in all I would recommend this product, it is effective & made from natural materials, which is also a good thing.

Perfect for the purpose, needs a bit of juggling to fit but completely stops fraught!

Has been great for the last 10 years but literally dealing with a moth infestation atm that all seems to have occurred in this excluder!! They love natural fibres so just wanted to warn people that this can happen! We have binned it now and having to have a lit fire on the hottest day of year to kill any remaining larvae. Concept is great and has been great for years but just a heads up as moths love natural fibres.

Good product, does the job of keeping away the draught. Easy to use and product seems durable. Would buy again!

I wish I had heard of these sooner! This is an awesome way of removing draughts and debris coming down the chimney. I have very old fireplaces that I do not count using. However, I like the aesthetic and historical relevance of keeping them. These come in a whole variety of sizes to suit all chimneys. I have bought a smaller one for the bedroom fireplace and am delighted with the results of both.

I had bought a Chimney Sheep before for use in a circular flue and it worked perfectly. Therefore when I found one to fit my open chimney which constantly drips with rain and debris during storms I was very pleased. I waited until it had been tested by recent rain before submitting this review and sure enough it worked brilliantly - no wet or mess in the fireplace. I’m particularly happy that this is such an environmentally friendly product and an excellent use of the beautiful coarse herdwick wool and highly recommend it.

Wow! We noticed right away that the living room was more comfortable and the furnace runs much less frequently. I'm glad I bought 2; our flue is wide and narrow with the flue handle in the middle. I just placed one on each side and they overlap a few inches in the middle. Where has this product been all my life!

This works great!! No more smoky campfire smell!!! Keeps the area cooler! Wish I had known about this years ago!!

works perfect for my chimney and has a little no fire sign that dangles at the end of the handle so you don't accidentally light up without removing the blockers. Perfect for chimneys that are missing a flue.
