Are these non-toxic? Wondering if suitable for painting kids toys

The stains aren't tested as toy safe, but don't need to be. As long as they are covered completely with a toy safe coating, and that coating cannot be broken away or removed, the object is considered to be safe.

Yes, this can be used to stain a bench but will need to be sealed with a varnish or waterproof finish so it doesn't run.
