Is this the same red bean paste that is used in mochi

Probably, Although I bought it to use in Bungeoppang. It is sweet but not overly so and because it is thick and rich; a little goes a long way. It taste almost as good as my homemade one, but that took hours to prepare and this saved time and worked well. Everyone in the family apart from the chocolate loving youngest, prefers their Bungeoppang with this filling.

Once opened how long does it keep?

About a month, but it depends where you store it.

Super tasty. Not quite like what you get in Japan.

Overall it's a very nice tasting bean paste. The texture and taste isn't quite there compared to what you actually get in Japan. I think it's likely mostly to do with preservatives and possibly the sugar they use? However overall it tastes great. Put it inside my Mochi and even eat some just straight up.

It keep it in the fridge, nice, fruity, wholesome taste;; every time I visit the fridge I have a squeeze on the packet and take a mouthful. Satisfying and refreshing taste.

Nice Sweetness and Smooth!

This is a sweet red bean paste that I mainly use to create desserts, specifically a Japanese red bean paste jelly. This removes the additional hassle of creating bean paste from scratch as it has quite smooth consistency and sweetness. It comes packed in a plastic bag that kind of makes it hard to get the product out cleanly, but that’s just a minor downside!

Good with crispy duck

I use this instead of hoisin sauce when I make crispy duck with pancakes. Add a little duck fat & sugar and simmer for a bit, my kids prefer it to hoisin and it's authentic
