The most popular feeder in the neighborhood!
I first purchased a $100 feeder on Amazon that is super nice, can be set for weight so it will close if large birds like pigeons or Grackles land on it, keeps water out and has a ring around multiple feeding holes, which is supposedly what cardinals like the best. We attracted a lot of birds, and wanted to add a second feeder without the $100 price tag, so we bought this feeder. I didn't have high hopes, thinking this cheap plastic feeder wasn't going to hold up and the birds probably wouldn't like it as well. It is much more lightweight, doesn't hold quite as much seed as the expensive feeder and I thought a lot of seed would be wasted since it didn't close like the expensive one. Well, I obviously was wrong. This is by far the most popular feeder in our yard, as you can see by the photos. The finches especially LOVE this feeder and it is rare to find an open spot. But even better, because the perches are round "loops" instead of thin, straight "sticks", the cardinals like it too. Cardinals won't usually sit on a stick type perch but will use the perches on this feeder. Also, it still keeps the big pigeons, grackels and jays out because they are too big to sit on a perch and eat out of the holes. We mounted an expandable black hook on the tree so that we could hang it far enough from the tree that the squirrels can't get to it. You definitely have to hang it from a long hook and not just over a branch to keep the squirrels out. This worked perfectly. My husband accidentally broke the first one when he was trimming the tree and we immediately bought a replacement as the birds were beside themselves without it. We are going to buy another one because they wipe this one out in 24 hours. The tube is a good size - it's just THAT popular! The only negative I can think of is that as the amount of seed is depleted, there are less perches that can be used to feed since the feed doesn't go up to the top perches. We end up having to fill it up more often so the birds will stop fighting over spots on the feeder! We use black oil sunflower seed and have a number of cardinals and tons of finches. We also get the occasional goldfinch, red breasted grosbeak and even birds which don't typically eat from feeders. The birds drop some of the seeds on the ground so the squirrels just eat on the ground and are so cute, chasing each other around and playing. For the price, you absolutely cannot beat this feeder. I would not put the tiny millet type seeds in it as they may fall out more easily, but the sunflower seeds work perfectly. Just be prepared to be ankle deep in shells under the feeder and to fill it almost every day because you will be the most popular house in the neighborhood with the birds!

I’ve tried many tubular feeders but this one draws the most birds! They love it!!
First, and most importantly, the birds LOVE this feeder. It’s a good size so there’s more space between the feeding portals. Also, each portal has a great perch for the bird to stand on. Not a pole, like other feeders. The perch allows the birds to face into the the feeding portals, instead of having to twist their heads on pole feeders. The tube is large and easy to fill. My feeder gets non-stop action from 7am to 7pm!! The only downside is it is completely made of plastic. So, you have to keep the squirrels off of it or they will chew away the portals and the seeds will pour out. I solved my squirrel problem by adding a large sturdy piece of cardboard on top that prevents them from getting to the feeder.

Holds an adequate quantity
Holds enough bird seed to last about a week with our level of activity. Only issues are: Durability isn't that great. One plastic piece broke when a larger bird got a little rambunctious, and swung it off its hanger to the ground. The piece that broke kind of rendered it useless. Adequate cleaning requires no small amount of disassembly to really get it clean. A gap around the base allows dust from the bird seed to get into it, which would mold if not cleaned out regularly. The "perch/dispenser" pieces need to be unscrewed and removed to really get the body clean.

Birds love it
I love to watch the sparrows in the enjoy the multiple feeders that I have. The only problem I have is the diameter of the holes seems to allow excessive dropping of seeds when they eat in the up with a quarter of the tube falling to the ground since it would be a better way to not allow so many seeds to be wasted on the ground.

Stokes feeders are the best by far, period!
Stokes makes the best quality feeders out there. When I need feeder , I always look for Stokes. We feed lots of birds for many years . We own several Stokes feeders. We have tried many different brands over many years and keep coming back to “Stokes” They are definitely the “Gold Standard” for back yard bird folks like us. Ask anyone who enjoys watching birds, Stokes is the best. Price is always fair , quality great , easy cleaning, and quick filling. Don’t waste time and money searching for just the right one, “get a Stokes”.

Great bird feeder
This is my third bird feeder like this. I love that the birds can perch and not have to turn sideways to feed. I got this as an extra so I can always have a clean feeder ready when one needs cleaning. I keep two up. The birds seem to be happy with these feeders and so am I.

Very Pleased
I have purchased this feeder each spring at Lowes for the past three years. I was happy to find an additional one on Amazon in November, when feeders are hard to find. I like the larger size—twice what most feeders are—so I have to refill less. This feeder stands up to a Michigan winter.
