A beautiful coat!
After reading all the reviews I decided to take a chance on this coat. I have watched all the Project Runways and Making the Cut. I was dying to purchase one of the creations. So, here’s my take on this coat. The material is metallic which makes it rough to the touch. However, it isn’t cheap as described by the reviewers. I sew and know about different types of fabric. The coat is fully lined and is well made. The scarf can be snipped off to allow you to change how you want to use it. It’s also made from a metallic fabric with a different pattern from the coat. It is long, but great for tall women like me. Sizing is generous and fits over my fat belly! It is not a winter coat, but will be perfect for the fall and spring. Highly recommended!

Perfect fit for larger gals!
I know there are a lot of reviews here that the product is too long and needs alterations in sleeve length, hem and shoulders. I am 5'10" and weigh 220. I am a big girl and usually would not have purchased such an item online without the reviews saying it was built on the roomy side. Thank you to those reviewers, because of them I decided to take a chance. The garment fits beautifully. (You cannot tell from the photo on sleeve length because I am trying to hold in the below hand length sleeves of my blouse - probably should have changed for photos but couldn't wait to try it on.) The fabric is a lighter weight almost "fluffy" brocade, but it should be able to go over a medium weight sweater so I fully expect to use this during the holiday snowy season, but would be ditching it for down when the polar vortexes come through. The scarf is attached at the collar which I like, but you could easily undo the thread tacking it on. I might sit down with a needle and thread and give the four front snaps a few more stitches - just in case, but overall it seems to be well-made. It screams date night, holidays, or Sunday services. Classy classy classy! Great deal for the cost.

Beautiful!
This is a perfect dress coat to go over dressy wear ! I ordered a Size XL and I’m a womens 14. There was a lot of material so is definitely a full coverage dress coat, but not super thick so still good for Southern Winters. I’m pretty tall so the hem was okay but it still hit me midcalf. Only thing I didn’t like is that you cannot remove the scarf as it is sewed into a seam. I wish they would’ve made this removable.

Gorgeous.
This is a statement coat. If you’re looking for a gorgeous way to strut into a room (and it’s not too cold outside), wear this. I am short (5’3”) and this goes closer to my ankles rather than mid-calf as in the model photos and the sleeves are too long, but I’ll likely get the sleeves altered and leave the length where it is as it’s eveningwear anyway. That’s right - I am willing to pay to alter it because it looks so good. The belt/sash thing can be removed to make it more versatile, but the suggested styling looks great. The inside (except the sleeves) is lined, generally good quality. Does it look exactly like the one on TV? No. Is it amazing? Yes.

Weird Cut
This coat has the most beautiful fabric for the price. Well lined. Gorgeous scarf. However, the cut is strange. The shoulders are huge and broad, the sleeves quite long. And the midriff is small. I am so disappointed as I have looked high and low for a distinctive full length coat. Must return, sadly.

No good size for me
I ordered the 2X originally, and it was huge. Probably 4-5 inches too wide around the middle and the shoulders were big. So I took my measurements again and ordered the XXL. It's at least 2 inches too small. I could barely button it. It's obvious they don't know how to make plus size clothes. Also, the look of the fabric in person isn't as luxurious as in the pictures. I thought it would look regal, but it kind of looks cheap. I'm so disappointed. I don't know if I would buy another Making the Cut product.

Decadent coat
Know a few reviews have knocked the material. I was actually surprised how heavy the coat is and how big the circle skirt is on it. Definitely not your every day coat - I could see this being amazing at Christmas/New Years/Theatre. At the $150 price point it is very nice and well made. I'll probably figure out how to detach the scarf just for additional versatility. Also love that it has pockets, and the giant collar is pretty spectacular. The coat pictured is the coat you get. No it isn't exactly like the one on the show, but it is exactly like the one in the picture on amazon - it is a lovely interpretation. I would assume if they recreated the version from the show it would have been $500+. Thank you amazon for supporting new designers and making it at accessible price points.

Love it
I am glad that I ordered it before reading some of the reviews- or I wouldn't have ordered it. I thought the material was exactly like what I thought it was based on the picture. I wasn't sure if it would be lined- but it is. I knew it wouldn't be as warm as a winter coat but it is warmer than I thought. I think it's beautiful. The sleeves are a bit long, but that is easy. It's a dressy pretty coat, and with black heeled boots and black gloves, it's perfect. Wear it over a cashmere sweater and it will be warm.
