Vellgoo 2500 Sq.Ft Dehumidifier, 34 Pint Smart Humidity Control, Drain Hose

I purchased the 1,500 sq ft unit back in Aug 2023 for an unfinished storage room in my basement. Worked great for a few months until it stopped collecting water. The unit, when it was working, filled the reservoir every day during the spring/summer months and now nothing. I tried the trouble shooting in the manual and looked for recommendations online but found nothing for Vellgoo. I tried contacting them via their online website but it doesn’t do anything when you click submit, and I couldn’t find a phone number to contact them by phone. Disappointed since the larger 4,500 sq ft unit I use in my finished basement works great. ***UPDATE*** I found Vellgoo’s contact information on a card in the original box/packaging. Thank goodness my OCD kicked in when I bought it and I kept the original box. I contacted them via email and they responded the very next day. They helped me diagnose the problem (electronic control failed) with the dehumidifier, and when they determined it could not be fixed, they offered to ship me a replacement dehumidifier at no additional cost. They asked for my Amazon order number and a photo of the product nameplate on the side of the dehumidifier to verify the unit’s info, serial number, etc. Several days later a new replacement Vellgoo dehumidifier arrived at my doorstop and is now working properly again in my basement’s storage room. The Vellgoo rep even emailed me tracking information and let me know when it would be delivered. A very big thank you to Emma from Vellgoo for all her kind assistance and follow up. She was courteous, prompt, and super helpful. I’d definitely recommend the Vellgoo dehumidifier after experiencing their positive customer service after my purchase.

Pros -Super quiet, i would have no issue sitting next to it all day and would probalbly forget its there especially if low fan speed is used. -quickly removes moisture. -great customer support, i emailed a question and got an answer within a few hours. Cons -larger tank would be a nice to have, but i understand the comprimise as this would require increasing the size of the full unit

UPDATE: 12/29/25 I’ve had it for 1 3/4 years now. It’s still working like a champ!!! it doesn’t get emptied as often as it should because I would have to breach my tenant’s space to get to it. So sometimes it sits for a long time with water in it. But as soon as I empty it and restart it, it starts right up and does its job. I’m so glad I bought this little unit! It has been a great purchase for me. This Velgoo dehumidifier has been working perfectly for nearly a year. I empty the tank every few days. It is ususally full. It is located in an unfinished portion of a basement used for storage, with a dirt floor, covered by a carpet remnant. Yes...that is carpet over dirt! You can imagine the moisture. But the Velgoo has kept it dry. The musty smell that used to permeate the area is gone. The unit has functioned perfectly with no problems at all. I clean the tank every few weeks. It is easy to do. The unit turns off when the tank is full and waits patiently for me to empty it so it can resume its work of removing the moisture from the air. The readout allows me to set the moisture level and tells me what it is at any given time. I absolutely love this dehumidifier and would happily recommend it to anyone who needs a continuous or intermittent dehumidifier. It seems to be a workhorse. A HUGE PLUS is the genuine interest the company has in my satisfaction. They reached out to me just to check up and make certain I was happy with my purchase and that the unit was functioning properly. Who does that? Contact me before I contact them? Velgoo does! Now that's customer care!

PROS: It is reasonably quiet and easily rolled around CONS: It did not come with a 'garden hose' connection as is shown in the user/install manual. PAGE 6 of the operation manual states:Auto-Restart:"If the dehumidifier shuts off unexpectedly due to power being cut, the dehumidifier will restart with the previous setting automatically when power resumes." ** it does not restart. Sent an email to "service". They responded with questions, after I explained the problem to where they understood, their communication stopped. Tried the VELLGOO web site it times out and does not load. I assume they are no longer in business. It does not dehumidify very much- Ran dehumidifier for 24 hours at 67 Deg F. The humidity went from 68% to 67%. Ran for another 24 hours and humidity went down one more percent. Barely can be called a dehumidifier Fortunately the dehumidifier was withing the Amazon 'return window'. FYI: I have had multiple dehumidifiers over the years for use in my basement. It seems that in the past few years, they are getting more expensive and quality has dropped. They usually last no more than 1.5 years. I would like to find one that will last like they used to. If they will actually 'replace' a defective unit, they usually do not want the old one returned. Then it's up to the homeowner to dispose of 'hazardous waste' at their cost. Not worth buying unless you just want to hear it run just for fun.

I'm updating my review to reflect unexpectedly great customer service. The original unit failed after a few months and I posted a bad review. Customer service reached out to me totally unsolicited and sent me a new unit. I didn't expect it and didn't want to hassle with a warranty claim. I work on AC systems and usually try to repair my own equipment. I run 7 dehumidifiers between my shops and home and usually use high end USA made units. I needed a small one to put in a 5th wheel during storage. This unit fit the bill quite well so I was a bit sad to see the 1st unit only last a few months. Things I liked: Good size for the RV Worked well at first Low noise Decent humidity control After the unit failed I opened it to look for the leak source unit my leak detection meters. I believe the leak was from the mechanically installed plug on the factory fill line and installed a brazed in port in it's place. These units use R32 refrigerant which my local supplier does not stock and isn't used in any other equipment I work with. Not wanting to purchase a full tank I filled the unit with R410a (it's 50% R32) and checked for leaks. Found none so basically confirmed the factory fill port plug was the likely source. The unit ran on the R410a but since the refrigerant properties are different the coil temps were off enough that it wouldn't efficiently dehumidify. I'll update this review again if the replacement unit fails.

I bought this dehumidifier for a future home. I figured it would be more cost efficient to keep the central on 'away from home' temperatures and let this machine run, while we're away. Testing it here at this house has made me very comfortable with the purchase. Set up is a breeze. The 3 drain options make it suitable for any situation. Even in this modern home with an excellent AC system, it draws a lot of moisture. It fills the tank in less than 12 hours. A few important things to mention (that Vellgoo somehow missed): 1) In the tank there is a small magnetic float that engages the cutoff switch when the tank is full. (See pictures) Make sure that it is not blocked or damaged. It should move freely. You can hear it click as it hits the top or bottom of it's range, when you tilt the tank upside down and back. If the float is blocked or damaged, the dehumidifier will not shut off when the tank is full. This will result in water on your floor. 2) When attaching either of the drain hose options, make sure that it is fully engaged on the nipple inside the device cabinet. (See pictures) 3) There is an air filter holder in the side of the cabinet, where fresh air is drawn in. But, no filter element is provided. (See pictures) If you want this unit to filter the air as it recirculates and dehumidifies, it uses the same thin, open cell foam filter element as many window unit air conditioners. That element material is typically 1/4" thick, cut-to-size and charcoal embedded to remove odors from the air. It is readily available at any Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's or on Amazon. I am very happy with this product and gladly recommend it.

I read several reviews before purchasing this dehumidified. One mentioned difficulty figuring out how to attach the drain hose, commenting on a lack of instruction. I'm glad to report that the instructions in the current manual are now included. They are clear, easy to follow. It took 30 seconds to connect the drain and another two minutes to find a place in our basement to route the included drain tube into. The unit arrived carefully packed, but delivered on its side despite the clear instructions to "keep upright". After removing the dehumidifier from its packaging we let it sit upright for 24 hours, as instructed, before plugging it in. I ran the unit for two days before connecting the drain hose this morning. The dehumidifier filled the bucket on both days! So far, we are really pleased with this unit. One small negative experience -- I was slightly confused on how the cap provided with the bucket fits on the bucket. After several attempts where I found the bucket with cap sitting on it incorrectly wouldn't fit back into its space provided for it, I now know there is only one way the cap fits on the bucket. from appearances I assumed in error that what I mistook as the top side was really the side that has to face the inside of the bucket. I just was slow in figuring it out! If I'd paid attention to how it fit the first time I took the cap off to empty the bucket, there would have been no wasted time. Despite this minor issue, the unit seems a great replacement for an older unit that recently failed.

Update: I am updating my review and am adding a star because, following my initial review, the seller reached out and refunded the full purchase price. The compressor has stopped functioning after less than 2 years. Would not recommend. A waste of money. Attempted to contact, but not able to do so through Amazon. Will not purchase from this manufacturer again. So disappointing.
