The Vampire Diaries: Season 8 [Blu-ray] [2017]

Excellent stuff. Shame it's finished but like the originals they are not getting any younger in real life so it makes sense they ended it. Some crossover with the originals season 4 so be aware.

I’ve now completed the full eight Seasons of The Vampire Diaries and can honestly say I’ve never cried so much as I did at the final episode of this Season (eight). This final Season ties up everything beautifully and movingly. The only thing I didn’t like was the last ten minutes or so of the final episode were very hurried and the story could have been lengthened to maybe another two or three episodes. And I WILL miss this programme, AND will definitely miss seeing the beautiful Mr Somerhalder on a regular basis!! And that, dear reader, is why I’ve purchased the DVDs!!

Loved this from season 1 too season 8 just brilliant story's with lots of twists and turns in each episode brilliant.

I am that gutted this series has ended ive started watching from the beginning again so mot got to eight yet, but will be sad when I do.

What now for the brothers Salvatore? Stefan and Damon are in for a bumpy ride as creatures from Hell strive to control their minds. Greatly to be feared are the scheming Siren sisters - not to mention Cade, the Devil himself. All this at a time when the two are beginning to have a conscience about their many decades of serial killing. The box set cover hails them as "Everyone's Favourite Vampires", but do they deserve any sympathy? The chemistry between Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder helps it all to work, underlying humour an essential ingredient (although admittedly less in evidence this time round). Creators have taken pains to leave no loose ends as the series draws to a close. It is back to basics, Mystic Falls the setting - its grim early history the key to all that has happened since. Time for the town to go too? This it well may, ditto everybody in it, if a certain clock bell should ever strike twelve.... As ever, there is much violence and gore - whether excessive, viewers will decide. Some may feel the Devil rather bland, his reasons for creating Hell very weakly contrived. There is forever the business of characters being killed (sort of) only soon to spring back. When this happens in virtually every episode (not just once either) such ploys become a bore - and remove any suspense there might otherwise have been. Despite reservations, I enjoyed this final season more than expected - it watched out of loyalty, having been there from the start. Yes, there are creaking contrivances but certain final aspects prove moving. Many will welcome the unexpected reappearance of familiar faces (the last minutes in fact rather cluttered with them, some on screen only a second or two). The fate of the brothers may surprise. 16 episodes. Bonuses include a 2016 Comic-Con better handled than some elsewhere. Despite a large panel, all have the opportunity to contribute worthily. Tissues may be needed for the goodbye session as creators and cast reluctantly accept that eight remarkable years have come to an end - tears shed by those so often seen sinking fangs into throats. For much of its run "The Vampire Diaries" contributed entertainingly to the television vampire craze inspired by Buffy's success. Despite the sadness of loyal fans, many may concede it now time to go.

CW and 8 seasons on series .. i expected the worst when they aired but strangesly it wasn't bad .. it was quiet satisfying.

I was please with deliver, but as it was a Christmas present. I think the person like it, as she requested it.
