I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best at judging the luminosity of an object based on its marketing materials. But the thought of a softly glowing globe of planet Earth in my home brought a certain cheerfulness to my mind. Two things to know about this globe if you are thinking of purchasing your own. First, it's extremely bright. It's a lamp. It could be an educational light fixture on the desk or shelf of someone with a lot of potential. Second, and this is kind of a downer, but the the locations marked by text on this globe are somewhat sparse. You'll get maybe one or two cities in a country, before all of a sudden you are off to the next country. It's a similar situation with states. But if you like globes, or lamps, or planets or orbs or maps, or if you just like to know where stuff is, you could do far worse than this globe. I give it five stars as a lamp globe for children. That's why you should buy this. As far as it's suitability as an adult globe, it would be three stars at best. Thanks for talking, but my other friends are here now. So I should go.

This is a good size globe that lights nicely. I just wish it had a battery that would stay charged without having to plug it in.

This was given to a 4.5 and 8 year old girls for educational purposes. A neat way to familiarize them with planet Earth:) They love us showing them all the places we’ve traveled and where we all live. I suspect the younger brother will benefit from it to. It’s actually beautiful all lit up and now has a spot in the family room:)

Gift for 4 year-old granddaughter. I like the traditional blue ocean and colorful continents which light up so brightly and attract my granddaughter’s interest which is great for introducing her to concept of world geography. After having it for these last few months, she can point to area where she lives, the nearest ocean and all seven continents. A great teaching/learning tool.

It’s amazing. My 7 year old loves it. Description to real life was 100. It came earlier than expected and was packed with such delicacy. Very happy
