Needed this for a simple reason: the bathroom has a shaver socket and nothing else, which is fine until you want to charge something that doesn't have a shaver plug. Picked this up to bridge the gap without having to run an extension lead from another room every time. Not much to say about it in terms of complexity because there isn't any. It plugs into the shaver socket, converts it to a standard plug socket, and works. The fit in the shaver socket is firm and it doesn't pull out or shift around with normal use, which was a mild concern given how some adaptors can feel flimsy in that particular socket type. The size is compact enough that it doesn't block access around it or look obtrusive on the wall. Build quality is basic but appropriate, it's a solid chunk of white plastic that feels like it will last without any issues. Nothing about it feels cheap in a way that would make you uncomfortable leaving it plugged in regularly. The only practical limitation is the same one that applies to shaver sockets generally, they're low wattage circuits not designed for high draw appliances. This adaptor is fine for charging phones, electric toothbrushes, or similar low power devices. Anything more demanding and you're asking more of the circuit than it's designed for, which is a socket limitation rather than a fault of the adaptor itself. For what it is, a reliable, no nonsense solution to a very specific and common bathroom inconvenience, it earns its place. Bought it, plugged it in, forgot about it. That's about as good as it gets for something like this.

I recently bought a new electric toothbrush and it came with a 2 pin plug. I bought this adapter to be able to charge it. It was cheap and it works very well. It's compatible with electric toothbrushs and shavers. I like that it's not too big and bulky but has all the necessary safety features like a fuse.

It's small, light, fused, well-made and does what it should so an ideal piece of kit at a very reasonable price. Why pay more..

Only bought this as I ordered a new electric toothbrush that stated it came with a 2 pin plug but it actually had one in the box, because it was so cheap it wasn’t worth returning.

I travelled to the UK last week after purchasing this item in June. I used the item once to charge my laptop and after an hour or so the charge indicator on my laptop stopped. I then tried again with other plug sockets and other devices and still no charge. I'm sure this was unfortunate and can happen with any electric items, however, the inconvenience of being in a village and not having a quality adaptor to charge my devices leads me to a 1-star review.
