Does this torch have any sort of charging indicator and/or overcharge protection circuit?

Yes it does. The indicator is red when charging, then turns green,when fully charged. We usually charge ours in the kitchen,from the Laptop on the work surface. Takes about an hour to fully charge from flat. Hope that helps.

How long does battery takes to fully charge and what is the battery life since the battery is non removable means I'm not able to change battery.

it takes around 5-6hrs since the protection charging IC will automatically reduce the charging current when the battery is nearly fully charge in order to protect the battery from over charging. The battery last at least 500 cycles which means if you charge the torch once a day it will last one and half year. at the time, it does not mean the battery is out of service but the only change to the battery is the capacity. for example, the original capacity is 2600mAh and after one and half year, the capacity will decrease to 2000mAh but it still working.

how does it switch on and off ?

There is a red button at the opposite end from the light. 5 clicks + a 6th for off. 3 different light levels / intensity and 2 blinking speeds. Hold down the red button at any point for several seconds to extinguish.

The battery is about 80% charged according to shipping regulation. so you don't need to charge it on first time use. It takes about 5.5Hrs to charging with charger rated at 5V1A min.
