Excellent for the food business. Double sided tape and stick them anywhere. Easy to read and quick temperature measurement but keep a backup in stock as they can break from mishandling. They are competitively priced and worth the money. Buy 2 just in case.

This is unbelievably useful for meat cooking, yoghurt making and so on. I have had the thermometer for a fortnight and it is working faultlessly now but there was a teething problem; the unit would not switch off. I took the batteries out several times and started again, but it still would not turn off. I left it overnight. From the following morning it has worked impeccably. It is good value, and simple- I would not be without it, and would buy it again.

Excellent thermometer and a very good price. Bought exactly the same as the last one I had (because last one fell in the sink for an hour and unsurprisingly died as a result)

Ordered this on the 12th September and recieved it on the 14th which is excellent. I've not tried using it on food yet but have compared it against an accurate mercury thermometer in some water with ice and in a pan of boiling water and it was within 1 degree which is more than good enough for checking that food has reached the desired temperature. The specification states it's accuracy is plus or minus 1 degree so I'm not sure why it's resolution needs to be one tenth of a degree! It's got a large and clear display, has alarms, hold and max/min functions, appears to be well made, has a lead so that you don't need to keep hold of the probe close to the heat whilst it reads the temperature, has a stand and takes a readily available battery. It should take the guesswork out of getting the right temperature and avoiding meat being underdone/overdone. A guide to the correct temeratures for various meats would have been useful but I found the following on the internet : [...] Also although intended for the catering industry this may be useful :[...] I'll edit this review if it doesn't work with actual food but so far I can certainly recommend it and consider it very good value for money.

Does everything you need without complicating things

Be aware that unlike some other thermometers with a cable this particular cable is plastic coated. It means that it will be susuptable to the heat from both the oven and the pan your meat is in and it is liable to melt. I returned mine as I didn't feel it was suitable.
