Just get a lorex system save your self problems

Have a 16 channel version but needed this one for a separate building. NVR works well but the dome cameras are terrible. Had purchased additional dome cameras separately and the following is a review of these cameras, which are included in this bundle: I purchased a number of these cameras to replace the existing 4k cameras on my 16 channel Swann NVR 8580RN security recorder. While these cameras work fine in the daytime they show dark images at night - which was compounded by receiving at least one defective camera which was returned, thanks to the folks at Amazon. No matter what settings I chose I couldn't get an acceptable picture at night - changing the shutter settings for nighttime rendered the camera with a totally white picture in the day. I was starting to think my wiring was bad until I re-installed one of my old 4K cameras that was replaced and normal nighttime video returned. I also had purchased one of the new 6K "bullet" cameras and it's performing outstanding! I purchased the dome cams as they have a wider view angle than the 6k bullet cams, but these are disappointing, not to mention the "flicking" when car headlights are detected at night! Even after making sure they were updated to the latest firmware they still perform poorly. Will end up spending my tax refund money to purchase more of the bullet cams to replace these dome ones. Save your money and buy the 6k bullet cams if you want to upgrade and have a compatible Swann NVR.

One year after our purchase, 1 of the 4 cameras has already failed, gone bad, and needs to be replaced, which is disappointing.

After a bit of tweaking it seems to work well. It takes a bit of work to reduce false alarms without the sensitivity being too low. I had to adjust the motion trigger areas back further than I expected to keep passing cars from triggering recording and constant notifications. Picture/video quality is decent but is upscaled, not native 4K. My only real disappointment is that the supplied cables are not full cat5 or higher cables (best I can tell, they only have 3-4 conductors) and do not support the live audio option. I re-used one of my existing cables and, for the moment, only have one camera supplying audio. The app doesn't offer a ton of features, but does the job. One of the main reasons I chose Swann is because they claim to NDAA compliant and claim to use only US servers. I'm not sure how that could be proven/documented but there will always be privacy concerns with any audio/video recording electronic device.
