Is this brace suitable for swimming? Especially swimming the front crawl stroke?

Yes, I wear it in the pool for front crawl. Perhaps I'm over-cautious but I try not to use my legs too much.

How do I choose the right size? What parts of the leg should I measure?

Measure two inches below centre of knee cap, then what ever the measurement look at size guide then what ever it says, I would get the next size up as the first one I got was too tight I thought so changed it for next size up and it felt much better and there's the velcro straps to adjust for your comfort anyway, hope this helps.
