great price, love the flavor, the thickness is perfect for all ribs an other meats. i use it just 20 mins before , pull ribs or other meat out of my smoker.

I started buying this after hearing that BBQ joints who don't make their own sauce buy this stuff by the gallon — can't confirm that one myself, but it's easy to believe once you taste it. This tastes like a sauce built to go on food, not like a novelty condiment built to sit on a shelf and win a taste test by itself. And for what it's worth, at least one national burger joint with somewhere between four and six guys in the name uses it too. It's got enough smoke and vinegar bite to remind you it's not ketchup with liquid smoke added, and it dodges the syrupy-sweet lane that most grocery-store BBQ sauces have crowded into over the past few years. The label makes a point of "no HFCS," and if you look at the ingredients you'll spot plain corn syrup still on there — not the same thing, and maybe that's why it isn't as sweet as its neighbors on the shelf. It's priced like a pantry staple, not a specialty item, and it performs like one — brushed on ribs, stirred into pulled pork, and I'd dip my chicken nuggets in it any day of the week. Been buying Cattlemen's since 2022 and haven't found a reason to switch. That's really the review.

Used this at Taco Time in the 1990s. It's a good bbq sauce. Not as sweet as Sweet Baby Rays (good thing)!

Only after trying this did I realize what Kraft Original BBQ sauce was like: McDonald's BBQ sauce. Not a bad thing in the least. You know how it is, very tangy, not really sweet but good on immediate flavor. It's a great sauce. That said, this one is unique and worth trying as well. It's a more advanced/sophisticated flavor profile with differing spices and resulting taste, definitely a bit more discernible sweetness but without overdoing it. Good for dinners and get-togethers if you want a sauce that doesn't taste like McDonald's (again it's a fine sauce but variety is the spice of life). You can tell they put more "effort" into this I would say. Kids may prefer the classic/basic Kraft/McD-style sauce because its a bit more "tangy" and has a stronger amount of stereotypical (some might call cheap) BBQ sauce flavor but for adults looking to change up their BBQ sauce, you can't go wrong. Lasts a long time (expiration-wise) and you might be surprised how quick a bottle of BBQ sauce can empty even if you live alone and only have 1-2 meals you use it on per month. A great buy and product to keep on hand when you want to change things up from your normal cheap BBQ sauce routine.
