Having used this on a recent trip where I was concerned about hotel security (work booked the hotel, not me.....) The hotel was extremely warm with no fan or air con (available from the hotel at a ridiculous price!) There were plenty of windows at ground level, but these were sliding windows with no locking mechanism - so they were either open or closed! I used this locking bar to prop the window open so I got some fresh air at night. I know this is supposed to be for patio doors, but it worked just as well diagonally across the window (it wouldn't fit horizontally - so make sure you have a fiddle) The bar appears to be made of strong steel with no flex whatsoever. If you have this securing a door or a window, no one is coming into your room! The downside is, this makes it fairly heavy if you are trying to pack this to take on a plane (about 1.5kgs!). I normally travel light so for me it's not a problem, but you might want to make some room if you plan on taking this. The other thing to consider is the length. This fitted easily into a normal size suitcase, but if you have a small case, then it might not fit. I did NOT receive this at a discount, I bought this like a normal person. A simple but very affective product.I would have had it delivered a day earlier but I was out but it I am very impressed with how quickly it did come. my only criticism is it could be a touch longer when fully extended. But thats minimal.I read all reviews and the positive of people giving 4/5 stars is well deserved. I live alone in a first floor flat and am very security conscious so I pride myself on getting the best...doesn't look flimsy , cheaply made..it just looks very well designed and made indeed. The price is marvellous for what you get...gives me great peace of mind. .

This is a very simple but effective security item - and it doesn't cost a great deal. We've had this for a few weeks now, so I thought I'd let you know how we're getting on with it. We use it to jam between the base of the door and the foot of the stairs - and it works like a charm. Once you set the pins in the right place, the rubber foot and the swivel foot (on the other end) enable you to wedge the pole in place. Of course, I've not had anyone try to break in to test it - but I'm pretty convinced it would add a good few minutes extra in getting my door open because of having this security bar in place. A great "peace of mind" security product.

I live on an Island with a crime problem and security is important. My patio doors are a particularly vulnerable point of entry and I was looking for an easy to install door jammer. This product has proved to be a great success. I have it permanently in place on the primary door, which gives rigidity to the secondary door in the event that someone tried to break in. It's discreet looking, but, since my doors are glass, can be seen and therefore acts as a deterrent for those thinking the doors can be forced quickly. It can be easily moved depending on where you need it and the construction quality is excellent. Good product.

A very strong method of locking a door from the inside. Will stop an elephant. The door frame will give out before the security bar does. Not the most portable option. Instead, get a Travel/Portable Door Lock. Not as study but easy to carry when you travel. Also useless from the outside. If you need to lock the door whilst you go out, you need something else entirely. But for adding some security to an indoor door with no lock whilst you're inside it's good. Great for adding some security when you're not able to install a permanent lock. Easy to fit once height-adjusted. Just slide it under the handle each time you enter the room. Sadly there's not many non-permanent locks on the market for locking a door from the outside.

It's good but l cannot know for sure unless we get bad luck. Seems good and strong. Good idea for not too much expense. A violent nut case could kick a door in within a minute, with this type of device, it will hold the door shut allowing time for the police to be called. I would recommend it, although l live in a very low crime area. I got nervous after watching some American utube videos which revealed to me that a locked door can be kicked in quickly giving a sleeping person no time to react to the threat.

I bought this to replace a 3ft piece of wood I had wedged under the door knob. The product arrived quickly and well packaged. The gauge of the metal used is decent, I did have a slight problem in that 'sprung lug' did not release at first, I had to pull the 2 sections apart and it fixed itself. Will the product work ? I think it will delay an intruder, the longer the delay, the longer your burglar alarm will be ringing, though I think the product will buckle under sustained force, use with door security bolts for added protection. The product is added piece of mind and worth the investment.

Funziona! Una volta installata, chi è all'esterno può spingere la porta quanto vuole, non si muove di un millimetro. È fatta molto bene e si può chiudere e riporre in poco spazio. Non sarà la soluzione definitiva, ma può rappresentare un buon deterrente. Consigliata.

Barre de sécurité très simple à mettre, et solide. Coince parfaitement la poignet de porte pour empêcher tout mouvement extérieur. Contente de mon achat car je me sens plus en sécurité.

Excellent! I was very surprised how easy it was to setup. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive because some folks described it as "taking awhile to adjust", I was fortunate to get it right in about three minutes time. The thing is super strong and when locked against the doorknob itself, it makes it nearly impossible to break the door open without a battering ram. I feel safe and secure with this thing and highly recommend it.

Acabo de mudarme a un chalet de nueva construcción y necesitaba algo que me diera seguridad ya que no tenía rejas ni sistemas de alarma instalados. En mi caso me ha valido para todas las puertas. Es robusta, práctica y muy sencilla de colocar con múltiples ajustes de altura. Además no ocupa nada y la puedes poner por ejemplo en un paragüero o simplemente apoyada en una esquina . Tiene dos modos de uso, el de puertas abatibles (ojo, siempre que se abran hacia adentro) y si quitas el gancho de la parte superior se adapta para bloquear ventanas o puertas correderas (como una barra de dominadas). Hay que limpiar la goma de la base de vez en cuando al igual que la zona del suelo donde apoya porque si hay arenilla pierde algo de adherencia al suelo. Yo la coloco lo más ajustada posible y luego le doy unas pequeñas patadas a la base contra la puerta. Queda muy rígida y si intentas abrir la puerta ofrece una gran resistencia.Da la sensación de que es imposible entrar. Sería curioso combinar la barra con una alarma de sensor magnético o de vibración. También sirve de arma disuasoria si se diera el caso. Lo dicho...encantado con el producto
