Question 2

Why doesn't this page show the ingredients of the food?

Accepted Answer

You can do a quick web search to get exact ingredients. I have been feeding this every summer for over 10 years. Intensifies koi colors and use only when temps are between 60 to 70 degrees. This is a specialty item. I mix it 50-50 with the Hakari Staple but again only when temps are 60-70 degrees.

Question 3

I'm feeding hikari gold koi food exclusively for about a couple months now. does anyone know if this food gives the water a pinkish hue?

Accepted Answer

Not for me. My pond is 18,000 gallons. I also vary the type of food for my fish just as we don't eat the same thing every day either. Partial (20%) water changes are also a good idea to maintain good water quality. There is such a thing as red algae that might color the water. Good water quality will clear that up also.

Question 4

What size is the pellet? Will 3-4" koi be able to eat it?

Accepted Answer

If you can find it I think that they would be better off with the small pellets. These seem to be around 1/4 to 3/8”
They probably can get it in their mouths but may have trouble crushing them.
