Spreads the Spot beam and reduces brightness.
Use on some Cheap chinese Magicshine replicas, reduces the bright spot from full brightness to about the same as low brightness ( ihave 2 lights to compare together). Also spreads the spot about 1 metre when used horizontal and 3 mtres in front. The new spot is still narrow though.I have tried the beam vertical and it is more useful as it lights a path immediately in front, but the up scatter is worse than with the standard lights so you blind traffic even more.I have custom made deflector mirrors on top of my lights to redirect the blinding light back down onto the road, and with the vertical setup works well.I may get another lens and try one horizontal one vertical to see how well that works.

Makes a good light great
I use two unbranded CREE lights (£25 ish models) on my mountain bike for night time off-road riding - tow paths and similar. One mounted to my helmet and the other on my handlebars. These lights are fantastic value and put out a lot of light for a decent amount of time but it is a very concentrated spot light. This simple diffuser, replaces the original clear one - you just unscrew the light and replace the existing one. Takes 5 mins. The effect is quite dramatic - the light changes from a spot to a rectangular wide beam which still seems just as bright but is now much more usable on both trails and road. The item comes in a simple jiffy bag with a small instruction sheet. For less than a fiver, I think it's an essential purchase if you're using these CREE lights, especially if you're running two.

Fully functional and grossly over-priced
Although this does exactly what it is supposed to do and is easy to fit, it is absurdly over-priced for a tiny piece of plastic that cannot cost more than 10p to make. The light itself and the battery together cost less than three times as much as this little plastic diffuser.Still, I knew how much it was when I paid and it does at least work as advertised.

Does exactly what it needs to do
Just fitted to a cheap Cree T6 light that I purchased years ago, the difference is amazing, lights the annoying high intensity spot is gone and in it's place a nice rectangular area, that allows you to see more of the road in front., you are still left with enough residue flood of light to illuminate the surrounding area.Care does need to be taken to align it and if your light is mounted on a non horizontal part of your handlebars you will need to account for this in the positioning.I would ask is there a reason not to put it behind the existing glass lens, if there is enough thread in the bezel to still securely mount it?It would also be nice if perhaps C&B seen could create a glass one. There are also very few cycle lights on the market that actually meet the UK BSI specification for cycle lights, in part this is due to them requiring beam shaping similar to what this does, perhaps C&B seen could develop one of these as well. But as far as this diffuser lens goes, for a few pound it really transforms the light and is really good value for money. if cycling off road I would use a light attached to the bike with the diffuser and a helmet mounted light without.

Must have for all CREE lights
I really like my Cree Light but I have to say for normal commuter use it is just to bright. Its very bright spot light can be blinding for both motorists and pedestrians. So much so I am nervous of using it at times and have it pointed very low in the road which limits its usefulness for me.This lens resolves that problem it defuses the single bright spot and also spreads the light horizontally across the road. I can now happily use the light on a normal road (at the dimmer setting) without any concerns. It is a little difficult to get lined up initially, but would really recommend this.Ps no idea what the single bad review is about. This is an excellent product.

Pricey for a bit of plastic but works well
The 1200lm lights from China kick out plenty of light but are a bit spottier in my opinion than would be ideal. This replaced the glass in mine and spreads the bright spot horizontally so that it is still bright but has better width. So, 5 stars for functionality but loses as star for the price given that it's a simple moulded piece of plastic.

Great little product to make the cheap Cree lights even ...
Great little product to make the cheap Cree lights even better. Simply unimaginable lighting power for such a little light and this diffuser helps widen that beam, useful particularly off road to have more spread lighting.
