Easy to ready, light weight map

We visited Sri Lanka for a month - we hadn’t set our itinerary before we got there - playing things very much by ear. We had a couple of travel guide books - which had various travel itinerary suggestions and this is where the map came into its own because it was more detailed and provided the scale that google maps on our phone and the little illustrative map in the travel guides couldn’t. We could plan out routes with much more insight. Our routine if we were considering somewhere, was to read the guide, check the distance / roads on Google - then look at the map and see the route - check surrounding towns on route. The map saved us retracing steps, it helped us make the most efficient use of our time with the least amount of travel. We will be going to Sri Lanka again and our trusty map is already packed!

The map is made from fairly flimsy paper. The details are good.

Clear print onto a hard-to-rip plasticated finish. One side shows the country in its entirety top to bottom, very good for planning purposes. Travel links and topography and main features are well defined. There's a separate box for the Jaffna District, and on the reverse some excellent larger-scale maps of Columbo areas, plus the coast north to Negombo with all beaches/resorts clearly marked, then other boxes for Anuradhapura, Mihintale, Unawatuna, Polonnaruwa, Dalada Maluwa, Kandy, Hikkaduwa, and the Galle Dutch fort area. The Legend box of what the symbols mean is clear and useful. Opened out I'd guess it at around 1 metre x .5 of a metre. Folds down easily. The main full country map is 1 : 500,000. I haven't taken it into the bath but it seems to be waterproof, so it should survive a monsoon, or sweaty pockets on a hot day. Steve Riches, Northampton, UK.

Good map of the whole island and larger maps within it of Columbo and other centres

Good map - a bit pricey though

Very handy and clear general map of Sri Lanka but not perfect, the occasional town omitted. Nevertheless, the best and most prcatical I have seen.The material is fairly robust and survived some rough handling. The maps of key towns were also a boon. All you need for a trip to that lovely island.

Die Landkarte ist in einem guten Format und macht einen stabilen Eindruck. Die Vergrößerung ist geeignet, wenn man sich im Land bewegt.

Mappa ben fatta e abbastanza dettagliata. Vi sono segnalati anche i più famosi itinerari. Non recentissima ma ancora attuale e molto utile. Indubbiamente una delle migliori mappe del paese. Sarebbe bello avere una mappa con una scala ancora più bassa.

Parfait

Nous l'avons utilisée avant notre voyage pour planifier notre circuit et elle nous a permis de nous familiariser avec l'orthographe des noms. Elle a résisté aux incessants pliages et contre pliages, à la pluie, aux flaques, aux doigts pas trop propres, et j'en passe. Très utile pour suivre nos trajets en train et surveiller la proximité de notre gare d'arrivée. Elle a même servi de contact entre la population, désireuse de nous rendre service, et nous ,parfois un peu perdus malgré elle.

Mappa buona per pianificare viaggio. Per essere di effettivo aiuto per guidare in Sri Lanka servirebbe un bel atlante 1:200.000 come minimo, fattibile visto anche che l'isola non è molto grande. Consegna molto veloce, come sempre.
