What are the units use for this meter. Uk uses mol/l and some comments indicate that this is not always so

I think it depends on the seller. Only mmol/L should be sold in the UK, as you know. Mine was sold by "Online Rhino Ltd.", and was mmol/DL. had to return it.

How to change from mg / dl to mmol // L?

You cannot, you have purchased an american product aimed at an american market, hence the price! So you will have to convert it yourself, or have a mental guide of the lowest and highest ranges you need to know, such as 150 mg/dl is 4 mmol/l and 348 mg/dl is 9 mmol/l and work within those parameters until you are more familiar with the products system, sorry!!!
