EVO-STIK Serious Glue 33g - High Strength - Waterproof

I have a pair of 25 year old but much-loved walking boots. They fit as comfortably as carpet slippers and they've taken me up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Snowdon, Helvellyn, and many less arduous walks. Sadly last year the Vibram soles started separating from the leather uppers. I tried all kinds of adhesives but none worked. I took them to an old-fashioned cobbler who tried to glue them but he warned me his repair probably wouldn't last and he was right, it didn't.As a last resort I tried Evo Stick Serious Glue and nine months later after numerous walks, often through puddles or wet grass, the soles are still attached and my boots have a new lease of life. I'm delighted.I agree with other reviewers that the tube and cap could be better designed. After opening the tube for the first time, and despite trying to clean the nozzle and cap well, the cap gets glued to the tube and you need pliers to remove it again. Nevertheless if you want a really strong, waterproof glue this is the one to try.

Used on a wooden chair and it seems perfect (as I look at it the next day).

I never really got to test this glue over a long period as it soon hardened inside the tube.This seems to be a problem with many adhesives.Perhaps two smaller tubes instead of one larger one might have helped?However, initially whilst it was working, it did a great job on repairing trainers.

This glue works really well. Unfortunately, even with the lid screwed down tight, it does have a tendency to set inside the tube once the tube has been opened. Make sure to clean the residue off the end of the nozzle before screwing down the cap, and maybe wrap some electrical tape around to make a really good air-tight seal. Also, be careful when using the cap to pierce the foil covering the end of the tube; I managed to get a bit of foil in the nozzle that prevented the glue from coming out until I managed to dislodge it with a nail.

Excellent product and does as described!!! Was able to reapply inside car rubber door seal with little effort and superb bond metal to rubber.

I think this has been superseded by larger and cheaper gun applied 'crystal' glues. Basically the same stuff, cheaper in bulk. It is an incredibly strong and flexible adhesive. I use on model aircraft mainly, but it will stick virtually anything. I used it last week for something but forgot what. It's that reliable. Oh, yes repairing leather and plastic shoes. You could stick broken wellies back together if you wanted.This size package is useful to me. The large gun packs invariably dry out and are wasteful in the small quantities I use.Think the JB Weld of acrylics. Both these products are really permanent.

It also doesn't seem too bothered by the surfaces being stuck together as long as they are not too dirty or oily/greasy.

The product worked as specified.

We've purchased very expensive underwater glues in the past to refix the filter cover in our swimspa, but they never worked for too long. This glue worked a treat and at a fraction of the cost of specialist pool glue. Very happy and will purchase again if required.

This stuff is the best! I have some bedazzled shoes and sometimes the stones fall off and need to be replaced. For years I have tried every type of glue and nothing works. I bought this and it works! It is amazing.
