It is a problem to measure distance from any metalic surfaces (any bare structural metal framing or aluminium window frames)?

This wouldn't be a problem as lasers are measured by the light reflecting off the surface. The only real problem would be physically seeing exactly where the laser beam is hitting the surface. In light conditions this can be tricky on most surfaces.

How is this at distance in daylight / outside ? Does the laser measure distance to the pitch of the roof when standing from the ground in daylight?

It depends on how good your eye sight is and the colour of surface you are aiming this at. In my opinion not very good in daylight over distances over 10m. You can get red tinted specs which help detect the red spectrum but still not ideal. The laser will measure any distance up to 100m but you need to know where you are pointing it to get any sort of accuracy.

What is the range of the device?

This can measure up to 100m. Not ideal for use outside though as you need to be able to see where the laser hit the surface.

is there a spirit level included

Hi, sorry, there is not. There was a Leica Disto with a spirit level but this was many years ago. That model has been out of production for a long time now I'm afraid.
