Complete satisfaction
We live in Cyprus. We dont have central heating or solar panels so rely solely on our immesion heater for hor water. This device is a "godsend" no more wondering if we turned the immersion heater off hours after we have left home. This item turns off automaticaly. we have 3 independant sellections 15 mins for washing up or one shower...30 mins for two showers ....60 mins for all other uses (although we havnt had cause to use the 60 mins yet) Its such a simple device and is easy for a qualified electrician to replace your obsolete switch and fit this "Horstmann Boost Timer" and it gives peice of mind and saves money. It will pay for itself in a couple of months. The company we bought ours from OKANE PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL were fantastic. This item is a "MUST" if you let your property out to tennants or you have elderly relatives that use immersion heating....Its Fantastic!!!Well pleased!!! (I have no connection whatsoever with the selling company or the manufacturer's of this item)

Very useful device
I've had this installed for almost a year, and it's been very very useful. Easy to wire, the timer was set up and running in no time. I used to turn the central heating on for an hour if I needed a shower outside of the usual timer settings. Now I can just set this to 30 minutes! I'm fairly confident that this works out to be cheaper than an hour of oil heating!

Fantastic product...
A replaced the one I had for about 10 years as I dropped wall paper paste on it while decorating. Unfortunately it fail though no fault of its own totally my fault. This is reason I replaced with same unit its longevity is second to none, well made, easy to install, well marked for installation a fantastic product.

Good item
We bought this to connect to an electric towel rail in a small bathroom. Plus sides include that it was easy to wire up and you can set it to switch on for 1.5 hours, 30 mins or 15 mins. The only negative (which is why it scores four stars) is there is no actual timer clock so you cannot set it to come on at a specific time in the day. I just have to remember to switch it on when I get up.

Nice piece of kit
This is a nice well made piece of kit. Simple to install and easy to operate. I used it to replace the main wall mounted on/off switch on the immersion heater. It fitted straight into the back plate of the switch. My plan is to use the immersion heater instead of running the oil-fired boiler when only hot water is required in the summer months - thus saving money. I can now do this without the worry of leaving the heater on. Options of selecting 15/30/45 minutes suit fine. I highly recommend this item for the task described. The price is about right.

BUY THIS it has saved me a fortune
If like me you have a family full of females that like to take baths. but keep forgetting to switch off the water heater, then you find it still on the next day. this will save you a bundle off your next bill. I went for the E15 as it has a max setting of one hour. thats more than enough time to heat a tank full of hot water. also a very good price (if you need longer go for the E30)

Dangerous
This is potentially a very useful device - that could save a lot of wasted electricity. However there is so little room behind the switch to fit the in and out cables that it's potentially very dangerous. My own switch completely burned out as it couldn't handle the current. BEWARE - don't risk it.

Changed my life
Every time I was going on holidays or going to be away all day came the dreaded thought "did I leave the immersion on?" If I wasn't too far from home I'd turn back to check it, other times I'd have to ask my neighbour with a key to check if for me. 9/10 I hadn't left it on. Sometimes the opposite happened where I didn't think I left it on and came home to a tank of boiling hot water I didn't need. Well, no more, thanks to one handy button. Just one less thing to worry about. So installation.. I have no idea. The electrician did it. I assume it was straightforward enough or he'd have let me know. The quality seems fine and I've been using it for a year without issues. How it works. It replaces the on/off switch that controls the immersion. Press it once and it comes on for 15 minutes, twice for 30 mins, 3 times for an hour, and a 4th time to cancel. You can also cancel it before the end of a cycle. This review is for the E15 model. There are other models too, such as the E30 (30 mins, 60 mins, 2 hours) and the E246 (2 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours). I saw one of these in my local gym too. They use it to control a fan above some exercise bikes. So there's a few uses for this product.
