cleaner records with knosti
this is a great cleaning machine for records the only problem is the crank broke on me while using it some how or other i dropped it on the floor and the dog grabed it and run off with it by the time i got it it was in bits could not use it again i now have a new kit and used it i can tell you it is by far the best kit you can get it cleans right through the grooves and the dries without any marks and you dont have to use a cloth as with other kits on the market and its cheaper than the rest the only thing i found was that the rubber seals used to protect the label are very difficult to seal properly so i used it without them and it was a better seal as i found on other reviews one person ruined the labels on one of his lps by not using the seals it works like the original knosti machine which i had befor it developed a leak and had to throw it away thats why i bought this new improved knosti its far better than the first version perfect results every time you cant go wrong 5 stars.

Dont judge a book by its cover
Having, Just bought a new DJ setup I was concerned about dirty my record, most of them are over 20 years old and have been used in some less than ideal situations, all that deep ground in grime doesn't do your stylus any good. so not expecting this to be particularly brilliant I bought it to give it a go as using a rag and spray never really gets deep into the grooves. After selecting a few of my records that really Crackle and Pop I put them through the Machine turned it about 10 times took them out and left them to dry the really cool thing is the clamp in the middle stops any of the fluid getting onto the labels which was a big concern. having let them dry I tried them on the turntable and was massively surprised when they sound almost as good as new. These records had been used in clubs and all sorts of unsanitary places where they had been exposed to dirt sweat and all sorts. Really wasn't expecting that much of an improvement. However if you have a vinyl collection that crackles and Pops every time you put them on your turntables then this is a definite good purchase obviously it's not going to get rid of scratches but there are certain things that you can do to repair certain scratches but sometimes it's just beyond repair. An absolute must is along with buying this I purchased a pack of 100 anti static polythene Style inner sleeves because you don't want to go putting clean records back in dirty paper sleeves Plus it improves the amount of time your vinyl stays static free. As I said I was half expecting to return it thinking it really wouldn't do the job but can't say how much I am impressed by it. The fluid that comes with it is reusable and there is a filter supplied that you pass it through back into the bottle, however this is one part that I will be replacing with my own version just to ensure that no grit and dirt gets back into the fluid. So along with giving a much crisper cleaner sound it also saves wear and tear on my styluses. Definitely a good buy and recommended to anybody that uses vinyl. I will also be treating any new purchases and replacing the inner sleeve for two reasons, 1. Cleans any manufacturers debris from the record and 2. The biggest benefit it removes the static charge. This I think will give new vinyl the best head start as it won't be attracting crap the second you take it out of the sleeve. I will still use the usual carbon fibre brush or velvet block prior to use. But if you buy one maintenance product for your collection this year buy this and poly anti static sleeves

Not cheap but does what it says on the box. Quite therapeutic in a weird way. I have cleaned in excess of 300 7' vinyls and they really get cleaned and appear to sound better. Said to remove static and again it feels to me that there is less noise and popping. The records I have came inside a lovely AMI continental jukebox and many are 30 - 40 years old and were filthy and dusty. In fact the liquid became so brown that I decided to replace it although it is stated the it can be reused several times. I might have been overcautious but the filter paper was literally black. I read an article where somebody recommended a rinse with deionised water but I think that is over the top. Would be interesting to hear other peoples' views about this. Recommended

Very highly recommended
Many years ago my vinyl records were damaged in a flood. It was clean water but as my cases were on the floor, everything got wet. By thread time I got round to see what could be salvaged, they were stained and there were mouldy patches. I thought that they were beyond being salvaged but couldn't bring myself to throw them out. Fast forward to today and I now have a turntable for my newer records and then I saw this. I didn't have much to lose so got one of these. Yes it's 'inexpensive ', looks cheap and of poor quality. But don't let that put you off, it really does work. Remarkably well in fact. I didn't use the cleaning fluid that came with it, as it contains alcohol, which is not good for your vinyl. I actually use L'Art du Son fluid which was recommended and bought on Amazon at the same time, along with a pack of inner sleeves also from here. A quick trip to Halfords (for something else) and came out with some demineralised water and microfiber cloths. So I gave it a go. Initially I was unsure as apart from wet it was hard to tell whether it was doing anything. I rinsed out the unit and rinsed the record in clean demineralised water and put in the included rack to drain. Then a wipe with the cloth to dry it off and left it to dry completely. To say I was astonished would be putting it mildly. It looked like new, all the staining had gone. I had to play it and heard the opening bars of Relayer by Yes. I sat and listened to Gates of Delerium (on vinyl) for the first time in 23 years. I was in heaven. So in summary, if you have sad looking vinyl, get one of these. I can't recommend it highly enough and if I could, I would give it 10 stars.

A must have
This little device is not perfect but definitely a game changer! There is a certain amount of carefulness and some skills required but it can revive your vinyl collection and give you the feeling of your old vinyls becoming new! I used my own cleaning mix (mix 4 caps of the provided fluid with 1 cap of white vinegar, 3-4 drops of Fairy washing-up liquid and replenish with deionized water), immerse the record, spin it once to wet the surface and leave it 1 minute to soak and soften old dirt, spin the handle clockwise about 10 times, leave it for about 1-2 minutes, spin again for about 10 times. When you take the record out, spray it generously with deionized (distilled, demineralized) water and put it on the drying support for 3-4 minutes for the excess water to drain and remove the clamps.

Brilliant
Fantastic, It really works, records that were unplayable through dust and static now look as new and play absolutely fine. if you want to clean up all the those records bought at record fairs and 2nd hand shops that are quite as 'v good' or 'near mint' as they said they were this will get them back to black, clean and shiny and sounding great. After buying the new version we bought the old one so we could have a second bath to wash the records in RO water ( bought from local pet shop) immediately after cleaning in the solution. i noticed the residue that has been reported being collected by the stylus. It wasn't a problem but now after the water bath, the stylus is pretty clean after first playing. Another tip is to use a coffee filter in a funnel to put the solution back into the bottle as the supplied filter system just doesn't work. its worth buying the new version as the seal on the record holder protects the label better the the previous version which lacked the rubber seal. Also the clamps that hold it in place make the process easier. Highly recommended

Simple and effective, but the clamp is no good.
As everyone else has said, this is cheap and cheerful but highly effective at cleaning your vinyl. I made my own cleaning fluid using a friend's recipe as many others have done and the results are excellent. I won't labour that point any further, BUT I will say that the clamp that comes with the G2 Disco Antistat is terrible. The first record I cleaned was a Dylan album with a red paper label and the G2 clamp leaked cleaning fluid across the first half inch of the label and ruined it - see attached picture. I assumed I had not tightened it enough but whatever I did the effect was the same and the labels got wet. So much for it being an improved clamp. After a quick online search I found a guy here in the UK who will modify these clamps to his own specification to improve them and make them watertight, so I took a punt on one. It cost me £20 plus the postage to send my clamp to him, but oh boy was it worth it. The clamp now covers a larger area and you can do it up tighter, making a perfect watertight seal. I have now used his clamp to clean eight records, all with red paper labels and it hasn’t leaked once. This is the clamp that should come in the box with the G2 Disco Antistat. My advice to anyone thinking of buying G2 Disco Antistat is DON"T. What you should do is buy the cheaper original version and invest in an upgraded clamp from HighQual. Then you'll have a record cleaner that will clean your vinyl effectively and thoroughly without ruining the labels for he same price as the G2.

Works great on our Charity Shop Donations of LPs
I work as a volunteer in a small chain of charity shop and I am responsible for selling on the internet the rarer LPs we get donated. We recently decided to put more emphasis on this area of work as we have, over the years, found quite a few relatively rare/valuable LPs. Almost all the rare LPs we find are in poor to very poor condition as you might expect from charity shop donations. We are now using this cleaner to clean up LPs before we test them (on a recently purchased Rega Planer turntable) and then sell them. The results we have achieved have been amazing. We recently found a very early pressing of King Crimson, In the Court of the Crimson King which was very dirty and essentially unplayable. After cleaning I played both sides (what a nostalgia trip!) and it played through without any major clicks or pops, skips or jumps, not completely free of noise, click or pops of course but very enjoyable to listen too with great sound, stereo separation etc. I think this LP is now worth quite a bit when its original state it probably wasn't worth anything. We have also cleaned up a very rare (but dirty) copy of a first pressing on Regal Zonophone of "A Symphony of Amaranths" by Neil Ardley which now plays beautifully and may fetch quite a high price!. Also cleaning early pressing of Sgt Pepper and similar LPs. It paid for itself with the first LP we cleaned! Any complaints? You have to place the LPs in the drying rack with care to avoid possible scratching, biggest problem is returning the fluid to the container after use. A funnel is provided but if you try and pour the used fluid out of the cleaner it spills everywhere and is very messy. I now use a simple hand pump siphon to drain 80% of the fluid and they pour out the remaining fluid. This works very well with no spillage.

insgesamt empfehlenswert
