I just received this cooling pad and there is only one functioning switch in the back--are there suppose to be 2 switches?

My KLIM cooling pad has two rotating switches.

Does this product work good with the air cooling?

I keep my AC on 76°. When I feel the air coming up out of the front edge of the Klim when my 15.6 HP laptop is laying on its grill, the air feels cooler. So yes my Klim works well and yes it keeps the laptop cooler

can it handle 8 pounds?

My laptop is only 5 pounds, but I'm sure it can handle 8. It's quite sturdy.

Can the case be opened up in otder to clean dust out of the fans?

Just make sure that it is not plugged by USB when you start putting your hands inside , we may be ressourceful but we do not have spare parts for human bodies yet !
