Midori MD Note Horizontal Ruled line

This is a joy to use with fountain pens, with no feathering or bleed through. I've been using it for several weeks now and it is now one of my favourite papers to use. The paper has a very, very slight texture which I really enjoy and a slightly off white colour as you can see on line. The minimalist aesthetic works really well too. Highly recommended

I absolutely love these Midori MD Note Horizontal Ruled notebooks. The layout is simple but incredibly effective, the pages are divided into two sections by a slightly thicker, darker line halfway down, which makes them ideal for structured journaling. I use mine daily as a work journal, typically using half a page per day. I break things into three parts: Facts – what I’ve done that day Feelings – how I’m feeling Focus – the personal skills I’m working on The paper quality is excellent. I write with a Gravitas Copper Fountain Pen using Waterman Serenity Blue Ink, and the Midori paper handles it beautifully. There’s very little feathering, no bleed-through to the other side, and overall a really satisfying writing experience. I also keep a sheet of Buvard blotting paper between pages to catch any excess ink, though honestly the paper performs well even without it. One thing I particularly like (which might not be for everyone) is the greaseproof-style paper cover. I keep it on, and over time it develops a nice, slightly worn character that adds to the notebook’s charm. Overall, these notebooks are ideal if you want something minimal, high-quality, and well-suited to a consistent journaling habit. Highly recommended.

Amazing quality at a fairly cheap price. I journal everyday. My collection of these are dated and look great together. My hot tip: Apply boot polish to the external cover to keep it from getting dirty. (thats my one negative, the cover gets very dirty!) I also sometimes paint it before polishing to make it a bit personal :)

Awesome paper, very fountain pen friendly, cheaper than Tomoe River and even better more like the older Tomoe paper. Highly recommend stocking up on these notebooks.

Great notebook with nice and smooth pages with minimal ghosting and no bleeding whatsoever. However parts of some pages are too waxy that certain fountain pen nibs will struggle to start. The same waxiness also means that ink will smudge long after writing.

Great quality and most importantly fountain pen ink doesn't bleed through. Will buy again. New Midori fan here.

Das Notizbuch und ihr Papier motivieren einen einfach zum Schreiben und Umgang mit dem Buch. Das Buch kommt mit Wachspapier umschlagen, wobei es alternativ auch richtige Cover zu kaufen gibt. Das Papier ist cremefarbend, was mir sehr gefällt, allerdings verfälscht es durch die Farbe das Erscheinungsbild der Tinte, also nicht für jeden was. Ich benutze es als Tagebuch, und meine Füllfederhalter gleiten über das Papier. Das Papier ist sehr glatt, was es gegen Öle von der Hand sehr anfällig macht und es sein kann das dort wo die Hand über das Papier ging der Füller "rutscht". Für Tinte allerdings dennoch ein wunderschönes Papier, Sheening und Shading sind super sichtbar, und die Tinte blutet nicht aus bzw. ist auf der Rückseite auch nicht sichtbar. Mit Bleistift oder Gel/Kugelschreiber auch super.

This is beautiful paper that takes ink very well. It is a pleasure to write in with a fountain pen. The darker lines in the middle of the page don't bother me at all. Those lines are intended to give you four quadrants to take your notes in but I just ignore them and keep writing which works just fine. This book is a soft cover in the truest sense. The cover is a heavy stock paper with the MD Paper logo embossed on it, the binding is visible and the green ribbon accents the whole aesthetic very nicely. However, the soft cover means it is *not* a lap friendly notebook. If you are intending to take notes or journal at a desk this is a great book but if you want to take notes at lectures or other scenarios that require the book on your lap you would be better with something hardcover. The book is designed to open flat on a table which is a very nice feature and makes writing even easier. Amazon's shipping methods of tossing items in bubble-wrap bags doesn't do this item any favours. Mine had a little crumpling in the corner of the cover pages. If you want a pristine version you may want to try a brick and mortar shop.
