Really great motherboard, very happy I chose this in black over all the others than support Gen 14 Intel's. Plugged everything in and it worked first time. Bios update was easy and quick, it took about 2 mins. Lots of connectors for fans and LEDs, SATA's and 4 M.2 drives. There are 4 M.2 slots. There is room for 3 with built in heatsinks, and 1 under the graphics card slot which is covered if you have a graphics card in. All modern features are supported as far as I'm aware. The design of the MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI is everything you could ask for. Premium materials and a slick modern design. It is quite generous with the ports it provides - something that reflects its price. Installation was easy and instructions are provided in case you need them. They provide a USB A stick which you can plug in to a device with Wi-Fi and install preliminary drivers like Wi-Fi. This is important as when you assemble the motherboard and turn on the pc you will not have internet - even if you connect to ethernet. Once the Wi-Fi driver is installed proceed to open windows updates and download all needed drivers as usual. You will be asked to install MSI center too. I advice to be wary of this software as it automatically enabled gaming mode for me, and when playing games such as Valorant it enabled extreme performance which overclocked my CPU automatically to its absolute max - something not needed for 12th or 13th gen intel CPUs in Valorant specifically. Another issue with this software is that it changed my display colour settings for its "gaming" mode. Another issue: The BIOS weirdly automatically sets the CPU cooling mode to "Water cooling". Beware of this if you intend to use your CPU with an air cooler as your CPU temps will sky-rocket unless you change this setting in the BIOS and set it back to "air cooling". The product quality is amazing, and the number of ports is generous but the software (including BIOS and MSI center) is lacking in transparency.

I've been using the MAG Z790 for just under a year now and I've been very happy with it without any issues. I'm not technical and you'll find other reviews providing a better technical insight but I did do a lot of research into gaming motherboards within this price point. I found that MSI came on top of other similar well known brands for it's balance of performance and features. The MSI build quality is very good, looks good, and easy to setup. I've pared mine with the following and it runs like a dream. - Intel 14700K CPU - MSI GTX 4080 super - Samsung 980 pro 2GB m.2 - CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 - Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS I have had no issues so far with MAG Z790 motherboard and would highly recommend it. I would also recommend to anyone building their new rig to do research based on other reviews and comparing specs.

This thing is beefy and strong and has tons of plug-ins. It's worked great for me so far and it was easy to figure out what goes where. Highly recommended.

Wifi is temperamental and weak.
