The Anne of Green Gables Cookbook: Charming Recipes from Anne and Her Friends in Avonlea

We’ve been making recipes from this book for the past 4 years and have loved all of them. The pictures are lovely, and the quotes from the book are so much fun. The old fashioned lemonade, shortbread, and pound cake are regular favorites now. It looks pretty on the shelf, it’s fun to flip through, but most importantly the recipes are actually good! We tried out the raspberry cordial today and it reminded me I never reviewed this book. It absolutely deserves 5 stars!

Our ten year old daughter has had this cookbook for about a year and a half and every single thing she’s made from it has been great. That being said, I came here to specifically write this review because of the CARAMELS she made this week. Oh my goodness. I went out of my way randomly to write this review solely because of these amazing caramels the ten year old made all on her own. Absolutely amazing and will become a new go to recipe- and she did it all on her own. They’re so good, they’re like something you’d buy at Kilwins or something. The book is also adorable for the Anne of Green Gables fan. I see it’s available on Amazon Unlimited right now, but this is one I love having the physical copy for. Highly recommend, especially for young Anne fans who enjoy experimenting in the kitchen. Try the caramels!

If you are a fan of Anne of Green Gables, this cookbook is a must have! It is filled with many fun recipes from the book. My daughter and I really enjoy this cookbook!

My daughter loved reading Anne of Green Gables so when she found out there was a cookbook she wanted to check it out. We first checked it out of our local library and when we found she was making several recipes (all winners) we decided to purchase it. Her grandmother and her make the recipes together and copy down notes or changes in the book. It has become "their" book together to cook from and make lasting memories. Love this book and all the recipes so far have been major hits.

This recipe book is perfect for any Anne of Green Gables fan. There are recipes from many of the book series, gorgeous pictures of Price Edward Island, and it's written by the author LM Montgomery's granddaughter herself! I've made Anne's Liniment Cake, Fish Cakes (which my 10 year old LOVES), and Gilbert's dish of tuna and mashed potatoes. So many more to try! I LOVE this book and highly recommend!

A gift and recipient loved it.

I picked up the old version at the local library. I really liked the recipes, so I ordered the newer version. There are more recipes in the newer version, and it has pictures which is big help. I really liked the veggie soup, but the picture seems not right. The recipe requires to use blender in the end, but the picture looks just like minestrone soup.

This is such a fun cookbook if you have read the Anne books. I made some of the recipes and want to make more of them. I probably won't make Marilla's plum cake as it sounds a bit complicated to do.

Beautiful cookbook

Bellissimo, molto curato e dettagliato, per chi è appassionato della serie di Libri, questo sarà davvero un prezioso libro da avere nella propria libreria. Ricette molto interessanti e utili per nuove idee e spunti in cucina.

This is a really lovely gift for any Anne of Green Gables fan. The recipes are beautifully presented, including a quotation from Anne with each. Thankfully the ingredients are listed in grams as well as the American cups. There are both sweet and savoury treats. My 7 year old daughter and I made chocolate caramels today (fudge) and I'm looking forward to trying out all of the others. Making these dishes will add an extra dimension to my next reading of Anne of Green Gables.

Je suis une fan inconditionnelle de Anne de Green Gables mais aussi de la série Anne with an E (très bonne adaptation au passage et fidèle aux livres de L.M.M). Je n'ai pu m'empêcher de me procurer ce livre en le voyant passer sur Amazon étant également une passionnée de cuisine. Réunir mon roman préféré avec la cuisine, quelle merveilleuse idée. Ce livre de cuisine a été rédigé par la petite fille de L.M Montgomery elle même. Ne vous fiez pas à la couverture sur la photo de l'article, en réalité la couverture est beaucoup plus jolie et fleurie. Les recettes ont l'air d'être assez faciles à réaliser, je n'ai pas encore eu l'occasion de tester car reçu fraichement. Mais le livre en lui même est magnifique ! Il respire la joie et il est très printanier. Les photos sont également agréables à regarder ainsi que les citations du livre à chaque recette. C'est devenu un de mes livres de cuisine favoris. Si vous êtes un fan de Anne alors n'hésitez pas ! Sauf si vous ne parlez pas anglais 😅 le livre est intégralement en anglais. Merci d'apporter un peu de gaieté, de fraîcheur, de dépaysement dans cet asile à ciel ouvert.
