I’m trying to get someone to help with no luck, I bought this a few months ago, but didn’t need to use it, it was in it box, yesterday the I needed it, I opened it and put the batteries on, this thermometer gives me all different readings one right after the other, I’m not sure what’s happening, but it’s definitely not working. I used to have another Kinsa and that’s why I bought this one because I loved the old one. I hope someone can help because this thermometer seems to be defective.

We have the ear thermometer and it is the niftiest thing! I love that you connect it to an app and it will keep track of the last time it was used, what the temp was, who it was used for, what their symptoms are, and suggests care options. I feel like I get an accurate reading each time. Having a sick kid or being sick yourself can be stressful and this eases some of those details that can easily be forgotten (last time temp was taken and what it was, the last time meds were taken, etc.) and displays them in a timeline in the app. The app is easy to use and keeps everything in one place and is sorted by family member. You can add notes, reminders, a diagnosis, medications, and symptoms. It also tells you what illnesses are going around in your area, if you choose to opt in on that feature. You can also add your child’s school if they participate in using the app. Even if you don’t use the app, this is still a great tool to have in your medicine cabinet! It is absolutely worth every penny!

This is the third generation of Kinsa thermometer our family has used. I have been very happy with the two oral thermometers we have used. Though I'm not completely pleased with this QuickScan thermometer. First and foremost, I'm not always sure the temperature is accurate. When I first used it, my son very clearly had a temperature yet the QuickScan indicated it was not very high. I tried using the oral thermometer and there was a discrepancy between the two devices. I contacted Kinsa directly and by the time I got the courtesy of a response, my son was well. Moreover, the customer service left a bit to be desired. I have used it on a few occasions since and have double checked nearly every time. The temperatures are generally the same. Accuracy aside, one thing I dislike about the QuickScan is the weight - or lack there of. It is extraordinarily light. Light enough that it feels cheap. Also, both of our Kinsa oral thermometers have come with a storage case. The first had a plastic box, the second had a little zip storage bag. This one has nothing. It just rolls arounds in the drawer where we keep our first aid supplies. When I have gotten out bandaids, I've gently touched the button and it has turned on. In future variations, I would suggest Kinsa have a storage solution or at least a snap on plastic that covers the button. For the positive, Kinsa's app is great. It can store temperatures for more than one family member. It inquires about other symptoms to give advice as to whether to monitor at home or contact a doctor. This information can be easily shared with others if needed. The home display also provides statistics local COVID and flu in your area. My husband had originally wanted to get a Withings thermometer. Not only is it more expensive it does not have an app that compares to the Kinsa product line. If tracking temperatures and symptoms during bouts of illness in your household is important to you, I would highly recommend the Kinsa thermometer line.

The Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer has been a huge help to our household! It’s much more convenient than trying to hold the tiny stick thermometers under my toddlers arm and him squirming away. This takes a couple seconds in their ear, and you immediately get the reading, and you can connect to the app! The app helps you keep track of symptoms, whose temp you’ve taken, and how many COVID and flu cases are in your area.
