Nutrisse Ultra Crème Permanent Nourishing Hair Dye, 5 Mocha Brown

I used this colour a couple of weeks ago to cover up a sun-faded very bright red, with dark showing roots on my chin length hair. Because of over colouring, and using sea-salt spray during the summer, my hair had been left quite dry and I was concerned generally about the condition. I was very happy with the soft feel of my hair after using this colour, and I have used the conditioning treatment that came with the package a couple of times since, with excellent results. The colour was easy to apply through the applicator bottle, although a little runny. I combed the colour through my hair to ensure a good and even cover, and ended up using about two thirds of the solution (my hair is fine and straight). My hair covered very well, with both roots and the bright orange looking area covering to exactly the same colour, which is a chocolate brown. After a couple of weeks this has faded lighter than the initial shade, but matches the colour shown on the box very well. This isn’t the first time that I’ve used this particular brand, and I have always had good results without encountering any skin problems, and with a good long lasting colour. Definitely recommended.

Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Crème – Shade 5 Mocha Brown I’ve been using this hair dye for years and it never lets me down. It gives excellent grey coverage and leaves my hair looking shiny, glossy, and healthy. The colour comes out a little dark at first, but after a few washes it settles into the perfect mocha brown. Reliable, gentle, and always a great result.

I have long, brown fine straight hair and colour regularly. I find most colours (including the light brown in this range) take on the ends more and give a darker colour there, but with this, I follow the two-stage instructions and it takes more evenly from root to tip and gives an even, natural result. I find the colour lasts about 6-8 weeks, and the conditioner about 3 weeks, and I wash mine 3 or 4 times a week (sometimes more). It is one of the few brands that supplies extra conditioner, which I find very useful as I find that with any dye I need to recondition my hair after 3 or 4 weeks but most don't supply any extra. I've docked a star as the two-stage application is troublesome, as it is hard to control the amount of dye that comes out of the applicator. It also does not massage into the scalp as well as other brands and you do get drips. But I put up with these issues because I have yet to find a better dye in the colour I want.

This hair dye colours my roots well. It is easy to mix, easy enough to apply to my hair myself. Although the colour does lighten slightly after about three washes I'm quite happy with that as it looks less intense. It does stay a good brown shade though. It does not smell too strong when applying. The conditioner that comes with the colour is really good as well. Good price.

It evens out my hair to look better
