Great little mandolin. I'm not sure why people are so surprised they can cut themselves when they use this - it's literally a tool for slicing vegetables quickly and easily, it should be obvious that if it cuts a vegetable it will cut your hand. That being said, it's a really good slicer for its price. The thickness options are good and easy to change between, the thinnest is thinner than I expected given theres only 3 options, and its ridiculously easy to clean. I have one of the bigger ones with a box underneath that has all the different chopping attachments that I mostly just use as a mandolin and I wanted one to keep in my locker at work to be able to take healthier meals in as I work shifts, and if it wasnt for the fact that I want to still use the other chopping attachments I would bin that one and get another of these, as this is far superior.

This is great. Makes getting thin and consistent Cucumber slices so easy, done in seconds. Easy to clean. Highly recommend

After purchasing the oxo potato peeler, going from ceramic to metal again I was dubious about the quality of this item as it was mainly plastic. My first thought was I don't think its gonna work... I used the item on the first setting to judge the thinnest slice it could produce, at first I didn't think it was working, but low and behold it did, all settings were fantastic. So I ho about slicing on the thinnest setting for my dauphinouir potato bake. Brilliant, consistent slices with minimal effort. Unbeknownst to me I had sliced the tip of my finger in the process I carry on going. Its only until I start grating the cheese I realise its coming out red :-/ the mandolin was SO GOOD I sliced my finger and didn't realise I'd done it!! Very nice clean cut, no jagged edges. Yes I should be more impressed with the potatoes but I was surprised I didn't feel a thing!! Please use the guard, I did revert to using the guard and it actually made the slicing process quicker!! Is fine to go in the dishwasher, I wouldn't trust sponge cleaning it in case it takes on your sponge and fingers, it does have a lock mechanism to raise the blade so it cant cut but I still wouldn't trust it. I think its out to get the whole set of digits....10/10 - minus my stupidity, its not the mandolins fault. What a lovely little gadget, I'm just glad I had it on the thinnest setting. I would give this five stars but my finger won't let me, it still holds a grudge.

I cut myself on the 31st of December. Exceptional product! However it works sooo well that I sliced a piece of my thumb off. Hospital and all. I would say when using the guard make sure your thumb isn’t behind it, even for a second… However I finished my gratin when coming back from the hospital and it was delicious!

A fantastic piece of kitchen equipment that makes slicing all manner of fruit and vegetables an incredibly easy task. I mostly use this tool for slicing onions - but you really could use it for anything! Its got three different thickness settings that you set by sliding the blade up or down, and the bundled handle is a great touch for safety!

This was a very good manoline. It is super sharp annd cuts so beautifully. It never became blunt l. I avoided slicing tomatoes as these are the wordy things to blunt blade. Unfortunately the clear plastic fell off after 11 months. I contacted oxo and they have a lifetime guarantee and are sending me a replacement. I am very happy with the product. I bought an alternative when mine broke for double the optic eod this and it is nowhere near as good. My only gripe is that this product y doesn’t julienne. I used it mainly for onions but occasionally salads and potatos

I just wanted others to know before purchasing this product that the levels of thickness of the slices are 1mm, 2mm and 3mm being the thickest which is not useful for me as I wanted this for having thick potato slices. However this is a really good and easy to use, cuts through potatoes very easily so should be able to handle other fruit and veg. Just wish I had known what the thickness of the slicing would have been in the product description and then I would have known this is not the product for me. By the way this mandoline slicer does come with a food holder which basically has points on it so you poke that on to the veg you want to slice and then push the food across the blade to slice so your hands do not come into contact with the blade. However the food holder is not very good as it does not poke into the veg properly and in my case my potato kept falling off the food holder. The food holder is also the blade guard so do not discard thinking that it is a useless food holder. Overall I would score this item 2.5 out of 5.

Absolutely fabulous. I've owned other slices before which were good, but this one takes the cake. The slicing thickness is very easy to adjust and the blade is super sharp, so it even does tomatoes easily. Always use the holder! It slices so very quickly you could cut yourself badly if not using the holder.

This mandolin has made cutting vegetables for my dehydrator such a breeze Pros: -the blade is very sharp and cut through the veggies fast and efficiently - the handle on the part that helps hold your veggies in place is very comfortable on your hands. It has little spikes on it so that your veggie can stay in place as you slice through it - I appreciate the visual illustration to determine the size of a cut you would like for your veggies, as opposed to a numerical value. It is easier to see exactly how thick I would like something instead of guessing what it would look like. - the thickest setting (as shown in the last photo) is just big enough. -the handle locks into place on the mandolin so you do not lose it while it is in storage Happy with this mandolin!

買ってからずっと愛用しています。玉ねぎ、きゅうり、じゃがいもの薄切りなどで活躍しています。 今まで使ったスライサーの中では一番ストレスが少ないです。以前使っていたスライサーは常に刃がむき出しで見るだけで落ち着かない気分だったのですが、これは厚さ調節の部分で刃と本体の高さをほぼ水平にすることができます。 使用後の刃が引っ込み、しかも滑り止めがその部分を覆って隠しているだけでこんなに安心だとは・・・ もちろん切れ味もよいです。

I always hesitated to buy one of these things because I felt it's more hassle (cleaning, storing, making sure you don't cut yourself etc.) than benefits but now that I got one I wish I'd done so sooner! It cuts everything perfectly and in a matter of seconds, it's safe to use, and the food looks much nicer! I'm glad I read some reviews before choosing this brand, as it seems they were right and this object is perfectly reliable. I feel my cooking life would have benefitted (and been more fun!) if I'd added this sooner.
