Tried and tested review
I purchased this chicken coop on May 2014- it is now 6 months on; I wanted to wait a few months until it had been thoroughly used and tested before I gave my `customer report'. I'm pleased to report it was a great buy. Very good value for money, sturdy, practical and fit for purpose. I adopted three rescue hens and researched various chicken coops; each claiming some unique selling point - some cheaper and some more expensive. This coop will comfortably suit four hens (I have Rhode Island Reds) and they are medium to large size hens.(they sleep in the coop at night and roam our garden during the day) The coop arrived as stated; flat packed in two large boxes. The instructions were easy to follow and within just over one hour my coop was built. The entire coop was sturdy enough for my husband and me, to lift it onto three concrete paving slabs. Our three hens took to the coop immediately. We removed the centre nest box divider because our hens prefer to huddle at night. During the summer we removed the perch and laid hay on the galvanised metal pull-out tray for the hens to stretch out a bit more - which they love. In the summer we left the sliding door open - but didn't have to worry about predators as we closed and locked the main door. Now we're moving into winter we close the sliding door and leave the two air holes open for fresh air. We were hit by Red Mite (those notorious critters that can plague the cleanest hen house). Eradicating it took time but was made easy by the coop's construction. We removed the tray and the square planking underneath (easy as they're designed to easily be removed for cleaning). Plus we pulled out the base of the nest boxes. We decided to use table salt by spreading it on all bases and along all crevices. This was repeated every week for a month. Whilst the salt corroded some of the screws and a little of the metal tray - it worked - no more Red Mite. It was easy to clean and keep clean - so important for healthy and happy hens. We have had some extreme weather and our coop has withstood the strongest winds and the heaviest downpours and it still looks great. The wood enables the coop to weather and dry naturally. The only suggestion I would offer is to have larger screws for the nest box hinges; as ours gave up after our children opened the nest box many times a day checking for eggs. My husband replaced them cheaply and effectively.

Well made product, fast delivery but not suitable for larger birds.
Really pleased with this product! Arrived much earlier than expected and well packaged. Little disappointed with the cost of delivery but after researching the best coops on amazon for an evening, I kept returning to this one regardless. Easy to put together and good quality apart from the lock which didn't work at all and would have been too flimsy anyway. Easily fixed with a £1 lock from Wilkos instead. House section is actually a bit too roomy for my two bantams but they love it!! Would not recommend as a coop for keeping chickens in for a long period of time however. I purchased this as a house for my two newest additions who have been very much bullied by the rest of the family. They now have their own space to sleep and a place they can call home when the big girls are out in the allotment. Definitely recommend the product but not for keeping birds in for longer time periods. 4/5 stars because of the delivery cost and the lock issue.

Faultless for the price!
Bought this to replace a £250 hutch I bought last year and have hated ever since. This was easier to assemble, had all the right screws and all the holes were perfectly aligned. The wood looks and feels great and the overall hutch is sturdy enough that we were able to carry it without worry. I ordered on Thursday and it was delivered Saturday. I have two mini rex rabbits in it and it's big enough for them, like other reviews mention just check the description for accurate measurements as the pictures make it look larger than it is. My boys are happy in this immediately! I don't know how it will last but as it seems better quality than my last hutch, which is fine at over a year old, I suspect it will be okay if I take precautions in the rain.

Made in China
Ordered it on the Tuesday and it was delivered on Thursday, so that was reasonable. Came in two boxes and was very well packed. The assembly was very easy as it only took about 30 mins to put together, instructions very clear although apart from giving a list of the bits and identifying screws they weren't needed for assembly. IMHO the seller is being somewhat misleading in the advert, the name and pictures could lead you to think it was a UK made quality product, it isn't. It's made in China and in all honesty while it looks good now I think after 12 months of sitting outside in UK weather it's going to be struggling. The timber used is very, very light. The netting is also very light and I doubt it's going to stop an adult fox intent on getting in if left alone for a couple of hours. The screws provided are long enough for holding the hutch together along with the wood dowels although but when it comes to the run they are too short and just pulled straight out so I had to replace those with longer ones. I will also reinforce all corners with some metal corner brackets as well before putting the roof on. It is small, you do need to read the dimensions given and NOT go on the photos! still, all said and done it should do the job I bought it for. The hens are all nice and cosy in their coop and run already and have been for about 3 years, but we have 9 chicks who are now about 4 weeks old and have another bunch about to hatch in the incubator, they would be too small to move in with the older birds but they are too young to move in with the general population yet so they will be going into this run for a few weeks as they grow.
