Fertility Foods: 100+ Recipes to Nourish Your Body While Trying to Conceive [Shaw, Elizabeth, Haas, Sara, Ruder, Sonali] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Fertility Foods: 100+ Recipes to Nourish Your Body While Trying to Conceive Review: Fact-based, research-supported, information and recipes that consider both male and female fertility - The authors are registered dietitian nutritionists and speak, write, and consult frequently about nutrition, food, and the role it plays in our health. In addition to their credentials, Elizabeth Shaw and Sara Haas share their personal fertility stories and their warmth, generosity, and passion for helping others optimize their fertility through food is evident on every page. In this cookbook, you'll find easy, accessible, recipes made with readily available ingredients. There is a wide range of flavor profiles and most can be adapted to particular diets or exclusions (gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, etc.). But my favorite part? There's no deprivation and this isn't about what NOT to do. Instead, the perspective is about permission and embracing what is good for you, nourishing for your body, and will enhance and support your fertility. The basis of the well-rounded dietary guidelines is the USDA's My Plate, but Fertility Foods Cookbook goes a step beyond to include the facts behind which foods will most support your fertility as well as portion guidelines and corresponding recipes so you can start with ingredients you may have on hand already - or that you particularly love. They also provide a list of other nutrients to include in your fertility-friendly diet along with recipes. Each recipe has a Fertility Focus note and nutrition facts. One of my favorite parts, is at the beginning of each section, there's a chart of quick staple foods within that category (breakfast, snack, entrees, etc.) along with a suggested, simple, fertility addition or swap. The recipes are quick, easy to follow, and work together to build on each other. You could easily do a week's worth of meals from this cookbook alone - but still feel there was variety, abundance, and pleasure in your food. Review: Delicious recipes with great nutrition info! - This is an excellent cookbook with a great intro section on nutrition. Most of the nutrition recommendations for fertility included in this book are also essential for overall health, with frequent references to studies supporting more fertility-specific nutrition choices. The nutrition section is well written and well cited. The authors are clearly up to date on the latest research on nutrition and fertility. For me, the true gold of this book is its recipes. These are all absolutely delicious!!! The selection is strongly informed by the Mediterranean Diet, including lots of vegetables and protein-rich beans and cheeses. If you’re looking for ways to get more veggies into your diet, this book has lots of ideas. What I love about these recipes is that they feature a wide range of creative flavors and flavor combinations, are super delicious, and are all very healthy. A few favorites: the Umami (turkey and mushroom burger), the fast veggie and hummus sandwich, Shakshuka (an Israeli egg and tomato breakfast dish), and the spinach and sun-dried tomato pizza. There are also some tasty-looking smoothie, snack, and dessert recipes that I want to try. Definitely recommend this cookbook! My husband and I are both eating very well these days. :) Even if no cookbook can guarantee pregnancy, you’ll definitely feel your best eating this way, and you’ll have fun with some new recipes! Lastly, because the nutrition guidelines and recipes are good for overall health, the book will be a great addition to your cookbook library for all phases of life—not just when you’re trying to conceive. Good luck, and good eating!

Sound, easy to digest, credible info!
This book is amazing. I bought it for myself and husband because we wanted an extra boost for our fertility treatments. It did not disappoint. The variety of recipes is perfect, and all are easy to make. Some of my favorite are the chickpea salad with tahini vinaigrette, and the classic chicken noodle soup. In fact, I just made some soup to get ready for the winter cold. My husband, who is far from a cook enjoys making the spinach and sun-dried tomato pizza. I look forward to trying some new recipes. When diving deeper in the the book you understand the knowledge and expertise of both Elizabeth Shaw and Sara Haas. The authors devote an entire chapter to explain the concept of MyPlate, and how to incorporate it into a fertility diet. I appreciate that two women who experienced the bumps of infertility, took the time to to research and plan meals helping others traveling the same difficult road. I highly recommend to anyone TTC!!

Comprehensive Book on Eating Well with Delicious Recipes!
This has quickly become my favorite cookbook. The beginning has tips for general nutrition — specifically what is important for fertility. Don’t skip this part! This book is about eating nutritiously overall, not just about giving you recipes to try. There are plenty of recipes though! I counted 110 recipes (some are for salad dressings and sauces). These recipes usually have variations to them as well, so it feels like there are even more. My favorites are the spinach & mushroom frittata, the turkey meatballs, and the parmesan pesto pasta. There are even dessert recipes with less refined sugars for when you crave something sweet (the chocolate chip cookies are delicious!). I plan to use this cookbook long after our fertility journey is over. It has changed our philosophy on eating in general, and it has helped us significantly reduce refined sugars relatively painlessly. (written by Craig’s girlfriend)

I love this book. It has helped me in trying to conceive and make sure I’m eating the most healthiest diet possible. I must admit, I don’t like all of the recipes but have taken them and adapted them to my taste, whilst still being mindful of being healthy.

It seems nobody's checked the content of this book before printing e.g.: the photo and the name of the dish indicate it's with tomatoes... But no tomatoes are mentioned in the recipe. This happens in many recipes. Very poor. But there are some very nice dishes presented so one extra star given
