The scent on these Trapper Max Glue Traps is so subtle most people don't notice it but very effective in attracting bugs and mice. But if you are very sensitive to any smell you can search "Trapper Max Free Mouse Glue boards" on Amazon.

Can these be used in a house with kittens? Would kittens/cats get their paws stuck in them?

Absolutely DO NOT USE where cats/kits can touch! One go stuck to my Ivan's bum when he was a 'tween, and he was flying up and down in the air and we couldn't catch him until I threw a bath towel over him and covered his head. Practically had to sit on him while I removed it. I'll never put the poor feller through that again. I DO, however, place them in areas where he can't actually swipe by them and now that all three are adults they aren't interested in trying to pull them off the walls where I cut them into thin strips and taped them. Am ordering again today.

Can they be left flat or do you have to fold?

They can be left flat. That is the way I use them so I can readily see if I caught anything. I also put a small amount of peanut butter in the center of the flat board to further attract the mouse. I use them mostly in the garage.

will these boards trap ants?

Although glue boards are effective for trapping spiders, roaches and other insects I don’t see ants on my glue boards. There are other more effective ways of getting rid of ants, mainly with ant bait that ants carry back to the ant colony,
