Does this come with media and does it have uv like larger filters

Accepted Answer

Yes it does, it comes with a set of sponges (different grains) and a set of plastic spheres for the bacteria. Personally, I replaced the speheres with cermic rings. There is also a lot of dpace to add other media like carbon. It has no UV.

Question 2

Hi, I purchased one of these and it has 4 square holes under the rim of where the lid attaches and water is coming out of those holes, how to stop?

Read a few of the answers here , one says maybe you over filled it which isn't a viable answer due to the fact the unit needs to be totally filled with water with no air in it to work at full capacity. 
There are 4 square cut out in the top section  these are to accommodate the clips which keeps the lid on tight. When fitted correctly these clips work on a cam action and make a kind of clicking noise when they are correctly fitted and closed . 
If you don't fit them correctly the unit will leak from them .
You may also want to check the O ring that sits between the lid and the pot is correctly seated on the lid , it's usually a good idea to give it a thin coat of silicon grease or vasiline this will help it stay in the correct position when refitting the lid if the filter .
I would take pictures of mine showing this but it is actually running at the moment and I have had no issues with it leaking at all .

Another tip I can give you with these filters is many say they don't have much water flow and it won't lift the water very far . 
This usually due the air in the system and needs a good prime. 
To so this you need a bucket. 
Once you have your filter set up with the pipes in the tank run it for a few minutes then shut it off close the valve on the lid .
Now you need to take the outlet hose and place it in the bucket,  open the valve and let it start to syphon the water through the filter once you see that you have a nice flow if water ,( usually only takes a few seconds), you can now turn the power back on so the pump runs you should see an nice increase in the output of water into your bucket. 
Now all you need to do is close the val e on the lid again , refit the outlet pipes to the tank and open the valve and you should have good water flow now.
I usually put filter start or the bio bacteria ball in the top of the filter after cleaning .
Only need to clean mine every couple months .

How long are the hoses? Also what size are they if i need longer ones?

The two hoses are 1.4m each, pumping height is 850mm.

Is it normal for the pump to be warm

The pump is slightly warm as it also houses the voltage converter from mains power down to the pump operating voltage.
