The product description says this is for "dvi output to an hdmi input." i need it for hdmi output to dvi input. will it work both ways?

DVI is not the same as HDMI. What is pictured is HDMI to DVI. I received Display port to DVI. Quite different. model ZC2610MM-06

Does t his cable support dual dvi monitor operation (i.e., are all of the pins populated or is thee a gap in the middle of the dvi plug)?

Video card max resolution: 2560x1600 Monitor max resolution: 3840x2160 Connected with this cable: 1920x1080 (1080p) is the highest resolution that looks decent, and it's a bit blurry. Options for higher resolutions are given, but they look terrible and are unusable. Conclusion: Despite the presence of the center pins in the DVI connnector, this is a single-link cable NOT SUITABLE FOR 4K MONITORS or anything above standard HD.
