Bosch AMW TS Extension Pole

Great product and well engineered. I wanted a long reach hedge-trimmer and selected the Bosch AMW 10 HS. I also ordered this extension pole on the basis of the "frequently bought together" list. What was not stated at all in the page for the AMW 10 HS is that an extension pole is also included in the box, so I now have two. The instructions say that for safety reasons only one pole should be used.

This is a great addition to the Bosch AMW for those who need a bit of further reach and don't want to overstretch. I used this when cutting the face of a 16ft hedge and was able to do most of it from the ground with minimal effort. It's also ideal for cutting in areas where you can't normally access (i.e. over the top of a shed or other garden feature). It can be used with any of the attachments and is particularly useful with the pruner attachment (but watch out for falling branches). The build quality is ok (hence 4 stars and not 5) and the mating end which connects to the AMW unit actually fell off from mine (needed to be tightened back together with an Allen key). Also, be aware, because it shifts the centre of gravity so can make the unit feel a lot heavier and difficult to handle if you don't use it correctly. Overall a nice addition

This works well with the Bosch main unit and does the job. It give a bit of extra reach and works well with the hedge trimming attachment. I have a conifer hedge which is a bit high and this gets me to the top.There is one downside, though; the standard machine is quite heavy, but this makes it even more so and can be a bit of a job to hold it steady. Worth having..

Extends the operating length of the Bosch AMW10 by almost a meter. Of course this means the cutter head adjustments are not reachable so have take the motor strap off and lay everything on the ground to adjust the angle of the head. The drive is well packed with grease which got on my hands and shirt when disconnecting. Does what it says on the box.

This extension pole fits on the Bosch AMW HedgeTrimmer I recently bought from Amazon (I dont buy much anywhere else nowadays,sorry High Street) tried the complete cutter on the very high hedge at the back garden.The pole is simply clicked into place then you screw up the red safety knob up tight,and thats it.As someone else has mentiones when the extension pole is fitted on the cutter it is a bit daunting at first but it does the job very well.after 3 more goes I am now familiar with the set up so I just get on with the trimming.it has solved my problem.thank you Bosch.engineers.

It does the job, but tricky to assemble.

I have only used this with the chainsaw attachment of the AMW10 so far. It works ok whilst being aware that the whole tool is fairly unwieldy at this length and it would not be practical to use it any longer than this.. To make full use of the AMW 10 the extension is essential for me as it allows cutting of branches up to 4 metres from ground level. Also be careful when laying the tool assembly on the ground - it would be easy to tread on it and bend the pole extension. Assembling this extension to the AMW10 power unit and chainsaw attachment is straightforward.
