Find your own way...
Even tho, I'm a knife collector and quite serious Hiker/Bushcrafter I became tired of all those 'survivalist' type folks selling you knives with the motto "bigger is better"! Do you really need 5 inch blade to take along when you're hiking just to put some jam on your croissant? Need to open a can? You won't use that 5inch blade for that anyway, striking a ferro-rod? Most of those big suckers are coated or got beveled edge, so you need a special striker for that, Batoning a wood? Yes, that big blade might be useful for this, but are you batoning a wood on every hike?...I think you got the idea. Anyway it's a great knife for the price, lock mechanism is strong, quality amazing and you're getting all the useful tools you may need when out and about city-boy, great as a back-up tool too. Did I mention that you can use the spine of the wood saw to strike your ferro-rod? See you on the trail!

I didn't entirely believe that a stainless steel blade could be as good as real toolsteel edge - but the blade on ...
I was a little afraid to buy one of these. Despite the high reputation of the SAK, I didn't entirely believe that a stainless steel blade could be as good as real toolsteel edge - but the blade on this knife is superb. It arrived with a basic grind. Sharp enough to whittle but not razor sharp. I just gave it a few stokes on an old silkstone I have and it came up scary sharp. As good an edge as I've ever seen on anything. Definitely a handle-with-care item. It has a locking blade, which makes it illegal to carry in public without good reason so it's not for general use. Ideal for camping trips or walking in the woods.

Handy piece of kit
I'm on to my second one of these. Not a problem with the first. Just forgot I had it on me and it got confiscated entering a public building which I guess is a sign of the times we live in. Oops! This hasn't got the most tools on it for a pen knife but then it doesn't take up the whole of your pocket as a result. That said it has enough tools for my needs. The fact that the blade locks is great. As its Victorinox the quality is excellent. I'm not a forester but the knife has been useful for opening packages in the office, out camping, mountain biking and DIYing. Bought one the same for my Dad some time ago and he likes it too

Perfect pocket knife
I had one of these several years ago and sadly mislaid it. It has the usual durability one would expect from Victorinox with a superb wood saw to boot. Unfortunately it has to stay in my workshop as it is a lock blade knife and illegal to carry in public safe and sound in a pocket! It is quite sturdy but if you want to carve a totem pole from an oak tree it’s probably not the tool for you.

Shame about the cheap plastic handles.
My only disappointment with this excellent Knife is the plastic handles, they give the knife an undeserved cheap feeling in the hand. Its a shame because this knife oozes quailty in every other way. The main blade locks into place with a confident click and the liner locking mechanisms is both easy to use and feels like its fit for purpose. The bottle opener come flat head screwdriver also locks into place. The saw, according to other reviewers is the best available on a pocket knife, I can't verify that but its certainly sharpe and it cuts in both the forward push and the backward pull, it made short work of the green wood I tested it on and I've found it to be an excellent usable feature. There is also a can opener with a small flat head screwdriver, a corkscrew, toothpick, reamer/awl and small tweezers. The main blade is really sharpe straight out of the box, how well it will hold its edge and how well it will sharpen only time will tell. I chose this particular model because I wanted a straight blade and not the serrated version and unlike a lot of reviewers I wanted one with a corkscrew which I'll use more often than a side loaded philips screwdriver, which is on the foresters sister model 'the trailmaster'. Its worth pointing out that due to the length of the blade and locking capability this knife is illegal to carry in the UK without an appropriate and lawful purpose, so fine if your camping, fishing, hunting etc but not as an every day carry item. I'll get a lot of use from this knife I'm sure when out camping and hiking. I've owned victorinox swiss army knives for nearly thirty years and rate them very highly for purpose, value and excellent quality. I paid £22.70 for this one and despite my critisim of the cheap plastic handles, which I've marked it down one star, it was worth every penny.

It's Victorinox, so you know it's fantastic
For someone who's a fan of S.A.K.'s who is considering picking up a larger model, for the larger locking blade, this is a no brainer. It's the usual Victorinox quality (meaning it pretty much can't be beaten) and seems capable of some hard work. My only problem is that now I have this I have to invest in the Workchamp version - so if you're indecisive whether to buy this model, or spend a little more for the Workchamp, go for the Workchamp, because you'll buy this and just wish you'd spent a little more. Still, for someone who only wants it for the basic blade, saw, can/bottle opener and the other tools, this is a BRILLIANT investment.

Rapporto qualità-prezzo victorinox imbattibile! Apriscatole decente. Apribottiglie leggendario. Cacciaviti a punta piatta ottimi.

Kampta ihtiyacınız olabilecek her şeyi içinde barındırıyor.
