Is the fire made from cast iron or cast iron effect

Good morning, thank you for your query. it is cast iron effect. it is made of Steel / Plastic / MDF.

As anyone noticed a burning smell when you switch the electric fire on, is this normal?

I have just once and I wondered if it if was some dust. Not sure our old dimplex did smell burny when it was dusty and intermittently particularly if it had been off for some time. That lasted 30 years so not sure if it's anything too serious. However we don't put it on the higher setting and always switch it off at the socket. Obviously if it is a regular problem then you may need to get in touch with touch with Dimplex for advice.

Where are the control switches on the Complex Brayford Stove

The switch is on the right hand side of the stove. When it is in the on position you can use the remote control to turn it on and off.
