Why are these not suitable for plastic demijohns please (as stated in the description)?

Many plastic demijohns are made of non-rigid lightweight plastic which could prevent the bung making a good seal. If it works for you, then no problem.

How much do I need to fill airlock with water

We filled it maybe up to 2.5 bubble, make sure no water gets inside your brew.

Need airlock and bung to fit 45-55mm
