Accurate enough to be genuinely useful, with sensible expectations
I’ve recently invested more into my Dremel setup, and this Dremel 220 workstation has been a great addition. It’s one of those accessories you don’t realise how useful it is until you start using it. Build quality is very good. It looks smart, feels high quality, and once assembled it’s solid and stable on the bench. Setup was straightforward and didn’t take long, with adjustments that are easy to understand and use. In terms of accuracy, it performs well as long as expectations are realistic. There is a small amount of play, but this isn’t a £300+ drill press, and for what it is, the tolerances are perfectly acceptable. For small drilling jobs and detailed work, I’ve had no issues at all, and it’s far more precise and repeatable than working freehand. It adds a lot of control to a Dremel, especially for delicate tasks where consistency matters more than brute force. Switching between drill press-style use and a rotary tool holder is quick and practical. Overall, a very handy and well-made piece of kit. As long as you don’t expect industrial-level precision, it delivers accurate, controlled results and feels like a quality accessory rather than a gimmick.

I’m more than pleased with this Dremel Workstation!
I have to admit that my wife bought me this for my Christmas present, but I thought it wise to make sure everything was in the box and working fine before the big day arrived. I’m relieved to say that all parts were in perfect condition, assembly was straight forward, and the unit performed excellently. I did a few trial runs (using my Dremel 3000) by drilling through some pieces of wood and steel and cutting through some 2mm brass plate - with no issues at all. I was impressed with the overall build quality of the station, it remained firmly in place, and allowed me to smoothly and accurately drill holes. My only criticism is in regard to the included assembly/operation instruction booklet - it’s not very good! This is why I would advise purchasers to jump onto YouTube and check out the two excellent videos produced by Russell Platten. By following his tutorials I was able to assemble the workstation quickly and without any fuss, and get the most out of its useful features. Anyway, the bottom line is that if you want to extend the uses of your Dremel, then this workstation will enable you to do that. Oh, and if you haven’t already done so, do yourself a favour and fit a keyless multi chuck to your rotary tool - you can purchase one for just a few quid and it makes the task of changing out those accessory bits so much easier.

Great bit of kit but a nightmare to assemble
A great piece of kit and a useful addition to the dremel hand tool BUT it was almost impossible to remove the black plastic cap ends on the main telescopic shaft pole. The instruction manual was of very little use. We were pretty sure the ends had to be removed. I tried several times and failed. My husband tried several times and failed. We then watched a video on how to assemble the work station to be sure we were doing the right thing. The guy in the video also had a real problem removing one of the ends. Eventually when we were sure the ends should come off we used a loose vice to help pull them off. Assembly after that was very straight forward. A spanner (not included) is required to secure the shaft pole to the base. The video was well worth watching and was very useful (easy to find on google). A small spanner for securing the dremmel is included and has its own holder on the tool cage. The work station has some nice features (which are listed on web sites so I wont go through them here). It was a fair price. Worth 5 stars if the plastic caps had been easier to remove.

Worthwhile addition for your Dremel
Easy to assemble and quite a solid feel when using it. I liked having the ability to rotate the tool to enable detailed sanding and polishing. It makes those tasks so much easier to carry out and I keep questioning why I took so long to get one. Just go ahead and buy one, it's a game changer!

Well made workstation. It would be better if a simple base clamp system be provided as well.

Gerne!
