In the past I have tried a lot of different waxes. This one is my absolute favourite as it is non-glossy and keeps my hair in place without making it hard (like most gels do). Shame though that the product consistency changed over the years.

literally the best product ever to style my short hair. isn't like a gel and makes your hair look greasy, smells amazing, creamy texture and holds my hair up pretty much all day! when my hair gets a bit longer/floppier I do bring the pot around with me for quick touch ups during the day, but overall, an AMAZING product. tin is very portable too. lasts for so long, even when you use it every day

If you're looking for a hair product that actually encourages your hair to look more natural than it is, then you certainly won't go wrong with Schwarzkopf's Beach Matt Surfer Look paste. Depending on the occasion (or of course mood) I've got a few different products that tackle my thick, straight hair, and this particular offering is a great way to give your locks a more sporty, unkempt look that is ironically achieved by some very special ingredients. Suffice to say, this product actually does make your hair feel as though it's just been towel-dried from a swim in the sea, and I have no idea how that is achieved. I consulted my barber, and apparently salt/sea water is one of the best things to calm straight hair, which probably explains why I look quite different in holiday photographs (tan aside)... You only need to use 'tiny' amounts, because the more generous you are, the more clumpy it will feel and the harder it is to wash out. With the right amount used, it washes out fair easily but is also resistant to light rain, and doesn't streak a gooey mess. It's important to note however that this isn't a hair product from the traditional sense. Although you should run through the roots of your hair - preferably towel dried - it's not a creme that volumises and it's certainly not a wax that sets your hair rock hard, or even styles in careful handy-work. It simply provides texture and whilst doing so, retains your hair's natural colour, which is certainly the main reason you'd want to purchase this if you're fed up of products that leave you with a greasy and darker appearance. For something with a bit more uniform appearance, try the Fudge Matte Head.

I've tried loooaaads of waxes, clays, pastes & putties over the years. Some are too waxy, some are too sticky, some don't last etc... This beach matt clay is really good. It's light but coates the hair well. It lasts all day without feeling heavy and holds great. It has a pleasing smell - a sort of fresh perfumed cactus cucumber type smell which wafts around as you go about your day. Long or short styles, you can add detail for a 'messy' look or flatten out a bit if you want 'neat'. So far I'm converted to this one for sure... and I'm getting a bit too old to be a surfer dude!

Same quality as always but cheaper elsewhere.

I've tried other hair products since i grew my hair, but they left it looking wet and greasy looking, this stuff is great to get a messed up style and the wife can touch my hair now without it feeling greasy feeling, recommended.

Can't get past the sickly smell. Shame.

what it does it doesnt precisly hold it makes your hair bit dull ish matt with added texture almost like having sand in the hair. Love it couldnt get it in shop anywhere even when advertised so got it from here shi promptly fair price.
