It works amazingly well it can sting a little when you first start using it but soothes the itching sensation. It’s easy to apply because it’s a gel it’s not greasy like the ointment is and seems to work faster

Preparation H is my favourite cream and very effective, contains natural ingredients, good size and very easy to apply, last longer .

Bought for my husband to help with his piles in addition to the suppositries. He feels this works well for him and would recommend.

A very practical itgem for the bathroon cupboard. There is no smell when using it which is very good. It cools as well as relieves pain, and itching, it's easy to use and doesn't make marks in the clothes.

In this day and age and even with Trading Standards and Advertising Authority diktats governing what you can do and say when your promote a product, it is nevertheless very dispiriting to to keep finding products of all hues that simply don't work or 'does not do what it says on the tin'..but here I am delighted and incredibly surprised to find a small gel that not only did what it promised from the outset but which also solved my somewhat embarrassing and potential problems. Without being too graphic I was aware of the sudden appearance of a lump the size of a small gob-stopper and thought, 'oh here we go, hello hospital' as this is obviously a pile (and then some!) that must be dealt with surgically and I resigned myself to a somewhat uncomfortable visit to my GP followed by an even more uncomfortable hospital appt. to have the bloomin' thing removed! However I had heard about this Preparation H product (albet the by-product of passing pub jokes) and thought I'd give it a try..having also tried several other 'well known high street remedies' lately (that did not work)....and I am truly amazed to say that it actually worked and some three weeks after first using it the large lump has completely gone away. I could not beleive it when at the of the first week said gob stopper-sized lump felt smaller but it was and by the end of the second week of regular gel use, it was half the size and now a month on I am incredibly lump-free and generally feeling much more comfortable in 'that area'!!. I don't yet know if this is a permamently happy state of affairs but I continue to use the gel daily as instructed and will continue to do so on a permanent basis (just in case!) as at the price of the gel is certainly not expensive. So if you have been suffering in silence, (or embarrassment), like me..give it a go and you never know, you too may have a great outcome like I did..good luck!!

This stuff is OK ... No massive improvement really but it's steroid free, so if your looking for something more 'natural' then this might be worth a try? There are no massive issues with it and it does offer some form of mild relief but I'd say it's not in the same tier as the 2 better known more prominent brands. Like I say, it's OK, but so far there is no actual significant improvement. I'd probably go for Anusol next time?
