The metal detector takes a few minutes to assemble and setup. The left toggle is for the type of metal. So to get it setup correctly if you are intending to search for a specific type of metal its worth having a sample to test. And the right toggle is the sensitivity which is used for the depth and or the type of ground sand, mud, clay...The volume is self explanatory and there is a standard jack headphone socket.A low battery light will display when its low.And then the main screen which is the main indicator which 10 is detected your metal.The pinpoint button males the detection closer to the center of the disc to make digging easter and more persised.The item takes 2x 9v batteries which are not included.The quality is pretty good and great for anyone starting metal detecting this is a great starter kit. The metal detector has its own bag and can be put in it fully setup. The little shovel has its own little bag.The yellow spade will have to go in the bag with the metal detect and so can the shovel in its bag. As it is metal its a good idea to keep it in its own bag to protect the metal detector.Very happy with the qualo5ty and detection of thisI have tested this on so low sand and clay ground and has been very good at detecting things pretty quickly.The instructions are very good and comes in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.So great if you intend to send it to a family member in one of these countries

brilliant beginners metal detector! my 5 year old son and I have had a great time with it so far and found multiple items... including a rusty pair of scissors and even some money (well an old £1 coin anyway!).

Tested and seems to work fine. Easy to put together. Nice and light. Sensor head is slightly a bit smaller than some. But can't see it being a problem, might even help when pinpointing finds. Don't think it will go as deep as our other one, the digital version from the same maker, but simpler to use. How far do you want to dig down ?? Four inches is ok with a small hand tool.

Looked good once set up, but poor at finding anything. Bought to find a gold ring dropped in the driveway stones, however the discrepancy function is basically useless as it would only pick up gold when set to minimum! Which also means you find coins screws nails and all the other rubbish your not looking for!!! Sent back for a refund. The search goes on!!!

Good little detector maybe a bit short for me as I'm 6 foot tall and when this detector is at full length I have to swing it closer to my feet...I want a better one already. Recovered loads of junk from my land but no gold yet lol

Great kit for beginners, comes with all tools that you need and also a very handy bag to carry it.Not heavt at all, feels ok in your hand so you won’t get tired holding it. Never had a metal detector before but this is going to be a new experience in my life. Done a little test in my house and it works quite good, reacts to metal so seems to be good. Can’t wait to properly test, so far can’t complain if anything bad i will update my review.

Well built metal detector.It works really well, is quite responsive for different metals. This metal detector is lightweight with adjustable handle and is easy to carry for grownups or kids. So easy to easy to assemble and to use. Would be great for hobbier of any skill level.

The metal detector is low cost, light and easy to assemble. You can be up and running in minutes. The downside for a beginner is that the 'signal' is unclear to understand. It can detect metal but you are never sure what it is our exactly where is it. For the low cost, this isn't a complaint just a barrier for further/extensive use.
