We love this game! The game takes about 30 minutes to play, which is perfect for maintaining interest. It is a game of luck and strategy. Our grandchildren (aged 9 to 11) can play - and win - so it can be enjoyed by the whole family. It is easy to play but once you have played it a few times, you begin to develop diabolical strategies to beat your opponents. Beware, as it can become addictive and it can leave you seething with resentment when your opponent snatches victory just as you thought you had it in the bag!

Splendor - The current hotness and the buzz machine is in overdrive. Is it worth the hype tho? Hmm... I feel much of the hype with splendor is down the the components, which are fantastic. The chips are solid, weighty and just nice to collect and hold - they make a wonderful click clack when you pick them up and put them down. The game itself is about set collection with a stripped down 'build an engine' mechanic, the theme tying it together is so thin you have to be careful not to poke your finger through it... It's simple to learn, each players turn is blindingly fast, the game is done and dusted in as little as 20 minutes. This is no strategic masterpiece, If your after a rival to Terra Mystica or Bora Bora - This isn't it. In fact, without those amazing components I doubt the game would have registered on most peoples radar at all. That said, with everything combined this game is quite appealing, and somewhat addictive. It has a physicality that just makes it fun to play and you stop worrying about the depth of the game and the thin theme and just start enjoying it for what it is - An easy to learn, quick to play opener / lunchtime game. So, worth the hype? Maybe / maybe not, but its certainly a decent and fun game that's worth a play or two (If you can find it anywhere!).

Excellent delivery and packaging and a great game for 2-4 players. Initial set up a play is a little deciding re complexity and soon created another favourite for competitive games nights with the family! Recommended card and tokens game : if you like Azul, Sequence, etc you’ll love this too.

This game is excellent! I had an amazon voucher for my birthday recently so decided to buy a new board game. I’ve a few on my wish list, but wanted something that would be good for two players and saw this mentioned a few places online as being a good option, so thought I’d get it and see. I am so glad I did! When the game arrived, my husband read the blurb on the box, and said it sounded really boring, so I was worried it wouldn’t be enjoyed. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Splendor is a simple enough game, you get gem tokens and buy cards, thereby increasing your number of gems to buy more cards and gaining prestige. It doesn’t sound all that thrilling, but there is something so fun and enjoyable about the game, you just find yourself wanting to play again and again! I agree with some reviews that the end point of 15 points can feel a bit like stopping when you’re just getting started. We’ve tried ignoring that and playing until all the cards are gone and counting total points, or picking a higher number “end point” eg 25 instead. So depending on what you fancy you can play things a little differently. We’ve also tried dealing out a couple of the low level cards at the start as well, when playing with our children, which helps to get the game going a bit more quickly. Overall I can’t recommend this game enough, it’s so much fun, and really reasonably priced. Buy it, you won’t regret it!

Best described as a filler game, Splendor is extremely easy to learn and has very strong replay value. The flimsy gem dealer narrative is unimportant and is disregarded after a few games as the simple but highly effective gameplay mechanic and fluid turn structure are the most important aspects of this games playability. Turns are fast and smooth, no rule discrepancies can occur and no arguments will ever erupt, although the odd "grr" or sigh will be expressed. Splendor plays perfectly well with 2 players but is most fun with 3 or 4. The hardware in the box is beautifully crafted and presented and quality oozes from the two components on show- hard wearing, attractive glossy cards and perfectly weighted and tactile poker style chips. In my opinion this is a must have (filler) game for any board game geek but will equally entertain casual gamers and families of all ages for a long, long time.

Cant stop playing this game it's very addictive! We really like it and so do our teenage children. It's really all about planning ahead so you dont waste a move. It involves set collection of different gems which in turn earn you bonuses that you can use straight away. Gives your brain a really good work out. Simple to learn and simple to teach. Well made t componements. Your very much playing for yourself and rushing to collect 15 points before the others. It's different to a lot of games. Playing time is about half hour or maybe a bit more. Very quick to set up and put away. You can almost start playing within a couple of minutes. Several different strategies can be applied but no clear way is the best to win which keeps the game fresh and interesting. We play loads of games but i think this one will be off the shelf pretty often. Infact since we purchased it it hasn't made the shelf as it hasn't left the table!

I love this game! We have it already and offered it to a friend who was very happy. The design is amazing and the overall quality is great. Really good for those looking for a quick strategy game.

Great game, reminded me slightly of Ticket to Ride and Dragonwood with regards to game play, strategy and collecting points. Even my 6 year old and 9 year old love it. I just wish packaging with board games wasn't so wasteful, it would fit in a much smaller box... and then we wouldn't need so much storage for excessive box sizes on our shelves!

easy to pick up. fun game bought only for $34 when on sale

J'ai vu une vidéo de présentation du jeu sur internet je me suis dis, tiens un jeu simple à expliquer et qui se joue rapidement ^^ ça change :) Je l'ai donc acheté et présenté à mes amis ! On est tous devenu accro ! Le système est très simple mais les stratégies multiples ! Après plus de 20-30 parties effectuées (à coup de 5-6 dans la soirée) j'en suis peut etre a 40-50 même et je ne m'en lasse toujours pas ! je pers je gagne (quelle fierté de gagner tellement j'ai ramé au début) ! Les jeton ressemble a des jetons de casino c'est agréable de sentir le poid des jetons quand on les manipule ! Les cartes (meme si on oublie de les regarder) sont de très bonnes qualité avec des illustrations vraiment jolies ! Je le recommande pour passer de très bonne soirées ^^

Un excelente juego! Materiales de calidad y no es muy complicado de entender una vez lees las instrucciones y lo pruebas un par de veces. La razon por la cual me gusta más aun, es el hecho de poder jugar solo 2 personas y aun así ser muy divertido. Me encantan los juegos de mesa y este lo podemos jugar mi marido y yo sin tener que esperar a la "noche de juegos" con amigos. Muy recomendado!
