Timex Easy Reader 38 mm Watch

[Timex Men's Easy Reader 38 mm Leather Strap Watch] Had this Timex watch about one month. It's got everything I want - classic/retro look, easy to read, a second hand, leather strap, attractive blue colour. On some reviews people have said the tick is too loud, not something I've noticed, but then I only wear it outdoors. The only downside is that I use 2.5 mag reading glasses .. and can't read the date in the street when the glasses aren't on. Edit: July 2024 - Still working fine. Not changed the battery yet.

This watch is easy to adjust and lightweight, which makes it ideal for exam use. The display is clear and bright enough to read in different lighting conditions. The build quality is basic but feels okay for the price. It’s not designed to be a premium item, but it does the job well. I’ve only used it once so far, but it seems durable enough for occasional use. If you’re looking for a functional and budget-friendly option, this is a solid pick.

For the last 30 years I've had a Timex Expedition analogue with a little LCD panel, alarm, stopwatch, timer etc which used to be useful at work and which was reliable and great. However I've finally realised that ageing eyes have now made it next to useless: can't read the little LCD panel without a magnifying glass, the off white luminous paint on the hands make the hands disappear against the off white watch face, and my much more rare need for a timer or alarm are much better met by my phone. Instead I just wanted a simple watch on which I could easily read the time at a glance without squinting or reaching for my Swiss army knife (for its magnifying glass) that also looked appealing, I've mostly had Timex watches since my first as a boy in the 60s, all of which have been perfectly reliable, so looked through the Timex range and picked this one. The time is clear at a glance without having to focus, and it looks good. Perfect.

Nice watch, looks smart. First one I received the Indiglo function didn't work, but Amazon replaced it promptly. Bought in a sale for £21 and good value at that price, looks and feels more expensive - build quality seems good. Sadly let down by incredibly loud ticking noise - usually drowned out during the day by other sounds, but if working or reading quietly it is distracting, and annoying at night - can't have it in the room.

Just arrived and it looks very smart with the blue dial and brown strap. Big clear face and slimmer than I expected. Would have preferred the strap to be a little wider. Retro look, which I like. It does tick noticeably but it's not going to bother me. The indiglo light is bright. I found it easy to set, both time and date. The date is hard to read, very small, and today is 15th yet all I can see is the 5 even with my glasses on. Pleased with it so far! Update, six weeks after purchase. I have worn it every day, swum with it, showered with it. It is still bang on accurate to the second since the day I set it when it arrived.

Cette montre est très belle, sans aucun doute robuste aussi. L’éclairage LED est pratique et du plus bel effet. Bien que son bracelet en cuire soit beau, je l’ai changé pour ajouter une toute personnelle à cette montre que j’adore.

We wish we could give this a 10 star rating. For those who like the old-school type of watch, this is it...and it's a Timex just what we had decades ago.

Beautiful simplicity. Very loud ticking mechanism. I knew it - still shocked me.
