The Kids' Book of Crosswords 1 (Buster Puzzle Books)

Our four year-old became obsessed with newspaper crosswords and this book is perfect - it starts off with shorter, simpler puzzles and gradually becomes more difficult. There are 150+ puzzles so it’s great value. Highly recommend for young ones.

I wasn’t going to leave a review - it’s a perfectly acceptable kid’s crossword book so there’s not much to write, but... There’s another review on here that says their book was sold as new but ‘had clearly been used then the pencil rubbed out.’ The reviewer has also provided photos. As a result of that review, I checked my copy when it arrived and it was clean and new, with no pencilled in/rubbed out answers. My son’s used it for the first time this morning, and mysteriously, there’s now pencilled in answers on other pages. Except they’re not; it’s ink transfer from answered questions on previous pages. Have a look at my photos; you can clearly see the bottom left ‘d’ has transferred, as has the ‘u’ in 3 down. It’s happening when there’s a black square on the following page, and/or my son presses too hard with his pen (very common when you’re a kid!). Anyway, I’ve shoved a folded piece of paper between the pages to give it a bit of padding, and transfer is no longer a problem.

My 7 year old daughter feels v grown up and loves this. It has progressively harder crosswords so great for children to practise on the easier ones while they get used to the idea of crosswords. Would recommend, great introduction to the world of crosswords.

I bought this book along with the wordsearch book for my little boy. He loved it. It keeps him occupied when we are out for meals, or appointments and it helps him with his spelling and writing without him knowing. I dont bother timing him, I just leave it to him to do in his own time. A handy little book that fits into your bag and comes in so handy. A good book for the price. A happy child = a happy mum.

Great crossword book for kids. Small pocket size which i was unaware of. Still happy with purchase

My 6 year old received this and started completing the pages with great enthusiasm, some lof the clues were challenging, however great fun. I can't recommend Book of Crosswords enough. I would have rated it as 5 star, however the book is a little on the small side for a child, more pocket size and would be better a little larger, possibly A5. Apart from that, a brilliant little book of learning :0)

Nice size for a child and about the right level of clues

This was a good price and my 9 year old has really enjoyed doing the puzzles. There are easier and harder clues which is good, and a wide variety of subjects covered. Each puzzle is just the right size to challenge but keep their interest, and the book itself is a handy size for travelling (a little smaller than A5.) A good price and well worth it.

My 7 year old daughter fell in love with ‘words’.

My daughter LOVES this book! She doesn't like to read because she has a hard time sometimes, but I can't get this book out of her hands when it's time to go to bed. She learns to spell and think a bit. Some of the words are spelled in British English, like colour instaed of color, but that was also interesting for my daughter. Also, some of the clues are kind of obscure (a hood of a car is now a bonnet for example) but that is alos edecational. Buy this for sure if you love your kids!
