So far, working well
So far, this seems to be working very well. The cuttings I have started using this definitely seem less prone to wilting or rotting. I had no trouble with the nozzle clogging up, as some other reviewers said. I used fibre pots and after moistening the compost as usual, made holes about double - 3 times the diameter of the cutting with a dibber, and squirted the gel into the holes, without actually inserting the nozzle into the compost, which worked really well. Only thing I would say is that you don't get many cuttings from a bottle, so it works out quite pricey. It's only been a couple of weeks as yet, and I will try and update this review when I know how many of the cuttings actually root.. Update: Have bought this quite a few times since the first bottle, as it greatly improves the success rate for most cuttings for me, have rooted all sorts with this: fuchsia (easy anyway), petunia, geraniums of various types, various shrubs, other annuals and bedding plants.. It's specially good for cuttings that otherwise tend to rot easily or if you've not got a lot of material and want a high success rate. For cuttings that root easily, it's maybe a bit expensive, although, you save on compost and fibre pots/plugs etc, because of higher success rate, so might well even itself out...

good stuff, but much too wasteful due to flawed bottle design
according to the instruction, one shall put the spout into the hole and squeeze the gel into it while slowly raising the bottle until the hole is filled. Sounds easy and quick enough, tempting me to abandon powder. BUT that causes the fine cutting compost to clump with the gel that builds up around the spout and the neck of the bottle what makes the process rather messy. Cleaning up this mess every few holes is wasting a tremendous amount of gel. (Leaving the gel/soil mix sticking to the bottle will not utilise it for the next cutting hole, because it is impossible to get it from the outside of the spout down into the hole. And preventing gel from building up around the spout and neck to avoid this problem in the first place proved impossible for me because one cannot see through the bottle nor the soil, and therefore does not see when the hole is filled before it overflows.) As the soil clump builds up on the spout, it makes the spout even wider, widening the top of the next cutting hole - requiring even more gel to fill it. Another flaw appears to be the very short - but thick - spout: too short to reach deep enough into the hole. That forces you to fill the hole from the middle down instead from the bottom up. Sqeezing the gel from the middle to the bottom causes it to spread out, widening the hole more than necessary. That extra cavity, of course, gets then filled with the gel too, wasting even more. Also, as the spout is short and conical rather than long and slim, its diameter is much wider than the diameter needed for cutting holes e.g. for petunias, bacopa, verbena, geranium and such. You guessed it by now - making the hole wider what then is filled with the gel, wasting lots of it.... I tried to make a longer and thinner spout from a drinking straw, but it didn't work properly. It was not tight enough and leaked, and it couldn't stand the squeezing pressure and fell off, requiring me to use both hands. So I taped it to the bottle.....which does not permit proper closing after use....taking off the taped straw...taping straw again next day....I ended up dipping the cuttings into the gel...until the bottle was too empty to reach the gel with the cutting.... The gel itself seems to be very good, all cuttings are growing well. Although, much too few I could yield from one bottle. Quite a long review for such a small bottle ;) But if you do a lot of cuttings to secure your and your friends' & families' next years supply, the waste adds up rapidly - it is just too expensive to squeeze it around in such a wasteful manner. And I have to admit, I am a bit angered by the trouble and the whole experience wasting my time and my money. I am now using baby bio roota, which is also a gel (not a liquidy liquid!) - cheaper and the bottle is smaller so one can reach the bottom with the cutting - not wasting any of it.

great product easy to use and no mess
great product and easiest one I have found to use open it and squeeze It into the plugs before inserting the cuttings as easy as that results are great to definatley on par if not better then clonex which I have always used until now this bottle has(150ml) 3 times the amount of a tub of clonex(50ml) and its slightly cheaper you use more but not 3 times more for each cutting so a lot better value IMO

Does its job if used properly
Without heat mat..1/3 of cuttings developed roots and that was after 2 weeks. Block's remained moist but gel did start to dry up so more was required. With heat mat..3/3 showed signs of roots in 4 days. I would recommend using this product with a propagator, heat mat and thermostat set to 45 degrees, provides necessary warmth for stable root growth and it allows managing water a lot better to as the blocks/soil stays moist with humidity

It really works!
This item was delivered 2 days after ordering, also well wrapped. I was really impressed to receive it so fast. Put it to use straight away, and have waited patiently to see if it really works. It does. And how great to see such growth. product easy to apply and satisfying to see the result. If, like me, you don't like cuttings sitting around for months this us for you.
